Ive been watching your videos now for about a year, and have wanted a harley since I was 16. My uncle was an avid rider and watching him ride sparked a love that hasent been put out since. Got my permit last year and bought a cheap yamaha Vstar to learn on incase I dropped it. Took the MSF course this year and contiued to work on my skills these last couple months (limted riding season in NY) and feel I'm ready for the upgrade. After a few weeks of seraching I'm happy to say that I just finalized the purchase of my New (to me) and first Harley Davidson motorcycle 2007 Dyna Wide Glide with a stage 1 upgrade and exhaust. Only 13K on her I'm so excited. 😁

FYI on the Dirty Air air ride. I have been running it on my 14 street glide and recently noticed that the outside of my belt is starting to wear and have a few visible melted spots on the outside of the belt. Come to realize if I run my bike with the air ride fully extended my belt sits on my header cross pipe. I have to make sure I lower the air ride 1/2 inch from max height to avoid this from happening. The air ride is coming off. There is zero performance value in air ride suspension. Installing Ohlins rear shocks in next few weeks. The belt should last me the rest of this season. I’ll have to do it in my shop this coming winter

Ribbon switch problem here... long read... I had a problem with my odometer switch happen after I washed my Ultra, and it's a ribbon switch... So I figured water got in it and wouldn't let me switch to different odometer/trip odometer/fuel range... I tried blowing it out with air... letting it sit and dry out... but the fix was to spray it out with WD-40 I now don't spray the switches on either handlebars directly at the car wash, and i carry a can of WD with me, and that has fixed the problem every time. Spray your switch and I hope that maybe that will fix your problem also... Note after doing a little research.... One cluster switch from Harley Davidson is like 250 bucks... But you can upgrade and get both lighted handlebar switches for just a few bucks more. I can't remember the exact price but both lighted switches are under 300 bucks?? One handlebar ribbon switch 250 bucks... Two lighted handlebar ribbon switches.. under 300 bucks!! Thanks Harley Davidson!!! 😎🖕

Try spraying electrical contact cleaner into the nub that goes into the switch. A buddies front brake switch was sticking on and this fixed his. Spray it in and work the switch.

Im in Harley school, MMI Orlando…my class in on this now. Yes, CAN bus go’s through your RHCM, (right hand control module ) then to your BCM, w/gy wire. Reluctantly i would bring it in. They will hook it up to what they call a Digital Tech and know very quickly what to do. Harley’s electric diagnostics is really simple and easy. 10 grand fir the Digital Tech plus monthly fees. Ment to be too expensive for Indy shops.

I would turn on the ignition and then unplug that switch assembly and see if the light goes out. If it does then there is a good chance the switch assembly is the issue.
@johnhoffman35982 жыл бұрын
If switching the switch out on the bars doesn’t work you have a wire shorting out in the bars that’s why it’s intermittent and that box is getting hot.

Unplug one of the wires on the rear brake switch. If it goes out, the rear switch is the problem. If not it is more than likely the switch pack. OR it could be that the wiring from the bar swap shorted out the wiring for the front brake switch,
@redrider01512 жыл бұрын
Was gonna say the same...bar swap frayed a cable! You could see the exposed red wire on the harness in the back on the video already...betting the installer wasnt the gentlest

I would check the rear brake switch, before taking it to Harley. How do you know that there's no rust in the brake system. The brake fluid, through pressure, pushes the contact in the switch. If the brake fluid wasn't maintained properly, maybe you have some trash in the system? It does happen. All you need to rule out the switch is a multimeter. If you have voltage on both posts all the time, it's the switch. Good luck.
