I’ve heard many a story about bad service and or customer service from dealers or bike shops over the many years I’ve ridden and owned bikes. I had always been one to wrench on my bikes from way back in my teenage years. These days I don’t do much to my bikes except ride, too much technology and specialized tools to mess with. Nowadays my son does all my mechanical work, he’s an HD Master Tech. The only problem but not a big problem is he works at a dealership in Kentucky. So, any time I need some kind of service, it’s a 5 hour drive trailering my bike or a 6 hour ride. There is a couple upsides to that, I know my bike is in excellent hands and I get to visit. I’m glad to hear your problem was not a costly one and yes, I’ve been to White Lightning many times and have always been greeted by the friendly staff.

I can’t preach enough, do not use Harley oil! Personally I’m a huge buff for Amsoil. Amsoil 75/90 in my new LRST made the gearbox butter smooth. Just don’t run synthetic in the motor unless you have external crankcase breather. The Dino oil will build up less carbon on the piston.

Yeah there is a lock nut that fits on an adjustment screw for the clutch. If that came off the clutch would be way out of adjustment. The nut could have wound up on the stator magnet. It's a good thing it didn't wind up in the a primary gear on the for the crank or the transmission. It could have broken a tooth or snapped the primary chain.

When I bought my first motorcycle, a 2020 iron 883, from Myers duren Harley Davidson here in Tulsa, my throttle cable came lose while out riding one day. Bike was still under warranty so I called them and they did gymnastics to get a truck to me and the bike, pick us both up, get me a ride home, and fix my bike and delivered back to my house the next day! That’s service! Turns out the whole thing was my own fault cause I had been “experimenting” with my first motorcycle and had adjusted that throttle cable about two weeks prior. I didn’t do a good job, obviously. They never asked nor cared what or why it happened. They just took care of it. Awesome service. That’s why I went back to them for my ‘21 Low Rider S that I now ride. No throttle cable for me to screw up on this one!

You should also try switching the primary and transmission fluid out for something that isn’t Harley oil. I highly recommend Amsoil primary fluid in the primary case and 75/90 Amsoil Severegear in the transmission. Just did to my new ST at 800 miles, night and day difference. Went from a clunky gearbox to butter smooth. And neutral is much easier to find now. Run that in all my Harleys.

This is very very very common. VERY. Unfortunately. Tons have their clutch adjustment nut fall off from factory including myself. I threw that thin 3 thread piece of crap in the garbage and put a thick nut on that actually has some threads with which to grab and hold. Also another very common failure is the rear shock adjustor under the seat falling off and getting wedged in between the rear fender and tire and messing both up when the stock bolt that should but doesn't have a nut, backs out then the free play sheers it off. I would highly suggest taking the crap bolt out that is in it and replacing it with a good grade 8 one WITH a nut asap.

I certainly hope you get get good service .. you’ve spent what 100K in that place ? I’m not a dealership guy but my dad is.. he got them to replace his entire motor in his CVO springer softball way back when. Because they couldn’t figure out why it was burning oil . My road glide has only seen an HD service bay once and that was on a road trip after a blow out..,

Hey Ty, love the channel. I pick up my 23’ Lowrider ST next week. What are your thoughts on spending for an extended warranty? According to my dealer, they start at $839 for 3 years and can go all the way to 7 years. Trying to figure out if I want to pay for it…
@TyFromTennessee Жыл бұрын
Hi Kevin. Congratulations on your new Low Rider ST. I hope you love it!! I bought parts of the extended warranty on mine. I went with the tire and wheel protection and I also had included the first 5 oil changes and services. I hope that helps. Please let me know if I can provide more info. Ride safe and have a great time!

Any shop that is worth anything will test-ride the bike after the work is done. I just got my 2016 Slim back from the independent shop I support concerning a speedo issue and they rode it after the repair to ensure it was all working correctly before calling me. It is a sad testament that such a thing is not considered normal nowadays.

Yep my new Heritage went in limp mode with only 750 miles. When asking dealer to correct the problem all they did was clear the codes & say it isnt in limp mode now & to bring it back if it happens against. I guess so they can clear the codes again & say....ok good to go, without doing anything to correct the issue. Had planned a long camping trip & ride this spring to fall. Don't trust this bike at all.

My takeaway from this WHOLE video - A gated community????? Dang!!! I didn't now Ty rolled like this!!! 4:25 - This is not a knock on the bike itself, but this is where Harley DOES beat out Indian by a long shot. The dealership network of HD (675) to Indian (196) in the U.S. is simply not comparable.

The amount of turbulence I get in my ears and up my nice is horrendous!! And I wear a full face mask Also my local HD hasn’t been the best either Didn’t put in items I’ve ordered and sold me the wrong bungking crash bars so I had to grind the weld a bit and paint it fot it to work
