Their 3 part harmony is amazing, but their 5 part harmony is spectacular. They keep getting better and better.

I agree 100%. They have never sounded better than with this song and The Prayer. Their vocals now just show how much they have matured and how they continue to perfect their craft...

You said in the last video I watched if us Pentaholics are jealous of it being your first time. The answer is yes, but the whole point is to watch others discover what we already know. But, I got to enjoy seeing this video for the first time with you. I didn’t believe there was something I hadn’t seen, so thank you.

This is in my top 10, and maybe top 5, of all PTX songs I've heard. Absolutely beautiful! I've made a few jokes about Scott singing with his hands, but watch what every singer does with their off-mic hand. They ALL move them, almost as if they've practiced the motions, just because they're feeling the song so much.

Not an original, but this one inspired their original Run to You. A must to react to. 5 part harmony like this. Beautiful!!! Great reaction! 🥰🥰

Run To You is so hauntingly beautiful! 💖

This song was a favourite of PTX from early in their career - way back to when they were on The Sing-Off. And it inspired them to write "Run To You". You should definitely react to that one.

Very rare 5 part harmony song!!! LOve it~!!!
@danielcarter8372 жыл бұрын
You are absolutely right. When they sing it does come from their souls. It can't be faked. That is why we are Pentaholics. Never heard a reactor say that. You are so right sir.

Damn! Is correct. I know everyone else will say this as well, but their original Run to You is astounding.

Definitely react to Run To You a PTX original inspired by this song. This is a song the trio sang when in choir together and always loved and had always wanted to cover. Such an emotionally beautiful song. Great reaction. 😎

These harmonies are so rich. Augmented, diminished, suspensions. It's a music theory class in song
@jerrybaker28572 жыл бұрын
In concerts they did this around a single light with no mike's. In a hockey arena with 10,000 people without amplification.

I was able to see them do this live on their Evergreen tour in December and they did it just like this: all around one mic, u could hear a pin drop in a crowd of 10,000 +, it was stunning ❤️

"Crazy good." I absolutely agree. The mastery of this performance along with its emotion is just exquisite. Pentatonix is unreal!!!

We've got to get you to a live performance of PTX someday - the way you react to their music, I'm sure you'd have one of the most memorable nights of you life. They almost always do one song like this per concert - with just one mike on the stage. Thousands of fans in the venue, the entire audience holds its breath - and one can hear a pin drop from about the third note right up to the finish.

Love your reaction to this. Like you mentioned, this reminds me of being away from my family for years, and how rarely I get to see them. School and careers can take you away, but a part of your heart is always there. The original of this song was done by a group called The Rescuers in 2010. They had 4 singers, who also sang this a cappella, and it is very raw and simple like the PTX version. Here's a link to their video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pWncYapvZsqbf9E

Please react to Pentatonix Run to you,an original written by Avi and Kevin
@ruth21412 жыл бұрын
This is a cover. The original is by The Rescues and it is available on KZbin. It sounds very similar to the PTX but The Rescues never add the bass part. Scott learned this when he sang it with his college a capella group in 2011 and taught it to the rest of the group. They do a song like this now and then, with no percussion and really tight harmonies. You should listen to them do Elvis' "Can't Help Falling in Love" or their original songs "Run to You" and "Light in the Hallway" which are the same style.

Yes- as many have said- their original Run to You is in the “very mandatory listen to” category since all of their songs are actually mandatory….

First time I heard this from them, I played it for my husband, telling him this was me singing to him. It's how I feel about him. This song is so emotional, like you said and a bit heartbreaking too. It feels like someone saying goodbye. It's so gorgeous! I understand the version by the Rescues (not sure if it's their original) was played on an episode of Grays Anatomy way back.

What i like about this of course is the five part harmonies, and how simple the set is, one light bulb hanging and nothing else. Please take a listen to RUN TO YOU, its an original and its done in this kind of style. Keep doing what your doing man, you got a great channel

I'll jump on the bandwagon saying you need to react to "Run to You". You think this one is emotional, check it out when they actually wrote the material they're singing. Another good five-part harmony from them, again original work, is "Light in the Hallway". And that one features Avi singing lead, so it's fairly unique even among PTX's repertoire.
