Christmas blessings, joy and happiness to you and yours, Blue Fly. The magic of this journey was the visit to Europe that your carpet took us on. My heritage is from Poland and on Christmas eve, I always place some hay under the tablecloth to remind us of His humble birth. As I have decorated with my Beyer carolers, in the midst of them are some stacked vintage books and several brown and gold birds that are nested among the greens. Oh and happy birthday Riley, family is first and most loved.

Those dried floral are called Celosia and they sell the seeds on Amazon. They will often self-seed over the years. Your mantle looks beautiful. Love that little book

My grandma called them Cocks Comb. She came from Denmark and perhaps that’s what they were called or translated into here, in America. I’m so glad you shared the real name of this plant. Girl you are just amazing at decorating! Everything you do turns out GORGEOUS❤. The mantel looks simple and beautiful. Love that you use baskets for a more natural, rustic look. This is a beautiful way to honor your heritage. My heritage is full of Espanol, Italian, african slaves, taino Indians mixed with spanish conquistador who came to conquer the Island of Puerto Rico and I am very proud and my kids are super proud even though they are blond hair and red hair with blue and green eyes they are super proud of this beautiful mix of who they are. Oh Bev 🎄♥️I truly love what you creat. The Good Lord certainly has given you a special gift. About your fireplace. As a child we moved quite a few times and if the house had a fireplace she would always spray paint the whole inside box of the fireplace with a special black heat resistant spray. Just finished the inside so nice and when needed to be painted years later, she would do it again👍🎄

When you paint your electrical plate on your fireplace you can use chalk paint or craft paint thickened with baking soda and get a stone texture. I made my electric plate disappear into the background on my fireplace.
