Oh yes! When I was growing up, every coffee table had a bowl of nuts and a nutcracker, and next to it a big bowl of those Christmas ribbon candy. We would all sit and watch all the holiday Christmas specials. Our Christmas stockings always had the nuts with a big orange and apple in the bottom. Wonderful memories.

This is so full of Christmas joy and comfort 🎄❤️🎄. Everything is just perfect ❣️ The nuts make me remember my Mother and I going out and picking up walnuts. Then we would crack them to store for her famous homemade candy that she made every year❣️. Such sweet memories for me. Mom and I did a lot of things together. What a beautiful Sun porch. I just love your style. Your story about your mom being on the Lawrence Welk show is awesome. My mom and I use to watch him all the time. I always talk about how my mom always had a bowl full of nuts at Christmas time. The nutcracker sat in holes in the bowl and a nut pick next to them. She would also have candy dishes filled with all the pretty hard candys, some looked like fluffy pillows and some like pretty ribbon . Then she would have a bowl filled with yummy tangerines 🍊 What wonderful memories we both have.

Beautiful! You reminded me of my mom with the nuts in the baskets. My mom would have a large basket next to the tree filled with oranges, grapefruit, tangerines, apples, cinnamon sticks & these nuts. It would give the house a nice aroma & snacks to eat. Does anyone else do this? I still do this till this day. Just curious. Everything you decorate is beautiful. Thank you & God bless.

Hello My first time finding you and I am so glad I did. I love the old world Christmas decor. I also like glam so I do vignettes of each style. I teared up when you were putting the nuts in the baskets for the tree. My grandma raised me and my oldest sister and every Christmas she would do a fruit nut and mellowcreme candy bowl for us to enjoy all season long. Bev you have a distinct style and I just love it. So wish you you were my neighbor. Are you going to be baking like you did last year? Beautiful memories you have of your mother. My mother would hum as she cracked walnuts. Her favorite. Pecans are mine. At the holiday time Safeway would put out large bins of mixed nuts and shelves of mixed candid fruit for baking. We always had a fresh Douglas Fir tree to decorate. There’s nothing like the smell of a fresh tree. Hugs from Texas.

Your nut story reminded me of a lidded spool bowl that was filled every holiday with an assortment of fresh nuts with two nut crackers and two picks. We to would sit on the sofa and crack and eat nuts. I ended up with that treasured bowl. My mother used to tell us that she received a stocking every year with nuts and an orange in it. I guess oranges were quite Exotic in those days. Thanks for the sweet memory.
