I always agree with people when they say My Hero has the best dub work, but I have to say: The dub work in this last season is amongst the worst out of each season and many many dubbed anime I have seen. Their choice to change around words so it would be able to be more easily understood is so disappointing. For example the whole "So instead... just watch what I do" was SOOOOO fucking bad to hear compared to the Japanese "watch me". Not only that, but many voice actors, pronunciations, and other scenes introduced in this season were so disappointing to hear in the Dub.

Hawks is undoubtedly the MVP of this fight/episode - he evacuated 76 people out of the building all at once and in an instant - he fought the little white Nomus almost on his own while keeping civilians away from them - he was the only one that always understood and believed in Endeavour, no matter what - he gave Endeavour the speed boost he needed with his feathers while being low on them - (this one goes unnoticed often) he notices from far away Endeavour forming an arrow up with his fire on his right shoulder, immediately understands and takes him up in the sky Sure everything about Endeavour‘s start was great but without hawks this fight could’ve gone completely different, truly the best wingman

The reason why Endeavor hated that school motto is because All Might embodied that motto. I understand that Endeavor was obsessed with surpassing All Might so much that he trained Shoto to become better than All Might, but like you said earlier it is in shoto’s best interest if he really wants to be the best hero he can possibly be. Even in this episode Endeavor states while ascending in the sky with the nomu, “you are me from the past or from another future” acknowledging he was obsessed with strength but also meaning he has calmed down with his obsession(even though they were for righteous reasons). I don’t read the mha manga so I’m very excited for season 5 !

This by no means excuses what Endeavor did to his family, but I’d be lying to myself if I said I wouldn’t give him a chance to fix things. He clearly wants to be the hero that people can depend on, but also doesn’t want to be a carbon copy of All Might. For that, he has my respect. Does this amend what he did in the past immediately? No. The scars he inflicted on his loved ones will never be fully healed. It will take time for them to trust him again, and Endeavor understands that. He is willing to give them the time they need. Can he try to amend for his actions? Absolutely. He can’t fix what he did in the past. But who says bad guys can’t change? I personally look forward to his development in the future.

^ Yes, this. People are fully entitled to dislike his character for his abusive ways. He may never be forgiven by his children, at least not fully, and it's warranted. But this really goes to show what great writing looks like. He's a fleshed-out character with plenty to show in the future and that's why I love him. He may have been a shitty person and nothing will truly make up for what he did, but he's changing and the development is incredible. Horikoshi made an excellent choice in choosing to go forward with a redemption arc instead of keeping him at a standstill of being a black and white character.

In addition, you can see he's acknowledging the mistakes when he says (im paraphrasing here) "Nomu, a bioengineered beast hell-bent on obtaining strength, you are me from the past, or another future" showing he's already trying to make changes to a) not continue down the road of eugenics and b) acknowledging his cruel world view he previously held. "Now burn up" - again, him trying to let go of these stale worldviews he previously held and shows his growth as a character, hero and a father.

Personally, I think the arcs after season 4 in the manga are not that dark. To me, it feels on par or a little less dark then what was shown in season 4. When it comes to dark themes in MHA, Horikoshi is more subtle and toned down about it compared to other shounen like attack on titan or demon slayer which are more explicit in expressing darker themes. So me being used to seeing other anime being darker, MHA feels kind of tame.

The episode is dimmed because it's a law or more like a guideline in Japan. There was a time where animes caused nationwide epileptic seizures on many kids. I believe it was a Pokemon episode where Pikachu went wild and some other episodes. So the animation studios can't go over a certain limit or at least some scenes need to be dimmed especially scenes in animes with airing time reserved for kids. Some effects can't take all the screen and be flashed repeatedly without dimming the light .Specially during fight scenes

This was the episode I was waiting so bad for you guys to react. The scene that really got me was where every other hero was cheering and losing it for All Might, but Endeavor was the only one trying by any means to reach the number one hero. And no one but one little kid saw that. Endeavor was a beast in this one. He knew that he was not, and never will be as big as All Might, but he sure as hell made people know that he is still there, giving his all. It's also a good place to stop since it lets Season 5 to start lightly by wrapping up this arc and then move to 1-A vs 1-B stuff. I'm really wondering where they will end it though

From 14:16 of the full episode Endeavor’s body was paralyzed through shear exhaustion. This is where Endeavor TRULY makes a statement in his seat as #1 hero. Without the use of his body endeavor has to solely rely on his quirk to propel him, later he is assisted by Hawks to reposition him and speed him up with feathers. When given the proper push endeavors body was still exhausted, hence why the punch wasn’t strong enough to blow his head off. Endeavor, still paralyzed, asks Hawks for one final favor and it is to use what’s left of his feathers to shoot him as high as possible into the sky. It is now deep minutes into the episode and Endeavor is STILL paralyzed…with the capability to go beyond plus ultra, endeavor, again uses NOTHING but his raw quirk to burn the nomu into ash….it is now 19:43 of the episode, and because the people meant so much to Endeavor he finally had enough strength to stand and lift his fist half way up so that no one would be afraid anymore…..That is our #1 hero!

Nice paralel with Endeavor becoming the new symbol of peace was when he lost his eye, but his remaining eye suddenly glow bright blue. Just like All Might whenever he gets serious! With All Might there was always this focus on his face and his single glowing eye and now that Endeavor embraced his role, he shared that moment too!

Got to love the title for this episode. And the symbolism with fire for Endeavor specially at the end were Hawks give him his wings and he become a Phoenix reborn from ashes as he is trying to become a better person/father.

Huh, the fear of heights discussion was actually really interesting to me. Evolutionary psychology teaches us that some of our fears are innate, like spiders, snakes, and, yeah, heights (they can vary in severity between people and be "unlearned", but they are innate). Presumably, the genes that make us afraid of heights would be distinct from the genes that give Hawks his quirk. Unless he'd somehow been born without a fear of heights, he should at least have initially been afraid to fly too high with his quirk.

If youre wondering why it dims randomly. In case of any scenes with bright flashing lights, they dim the scene to prevent any chance of it triggering epileptic shock. There was an even back when the original Pokemon still aired, there was a Pokemon that attacked with epileptic light. the episode caused many children to die from seizure, thus the episode was pulled.
