The way I interpret it is that Aizawa, like Deku, also believed that Eri's Quirk is a kind Quirk meant to restore hope to those who lost them, & not a weapon of despair that takes it away as wielded by the villains. Aizawa thinking of Eri before he cut off his own leg is like him saying, "Don't worry, kid. Your Quirk won't end the hero Eraserhead."

I love that this episode deeply delves into Bakugou's head. Having known Deku the longest, he's the first to catch onto his self-destructive hero complex. It also gives us more perspective on how he contemplates how he treated Deku, and, much like Endeavor, also wishes to atone for his actions.

A cool fact about this season, The ending’s do change for key episodes, such as the Twice episode changing the ending to show a scene of him and Toga, and this one to show Bakugo reflecting on everything.

Fun fact - if you ever read the My Hero manga, a lot of Horikoshi's art straight up looks like the most visceral horror art. I believe his next project is going to be a horror manga, even. So much of it has to be toned down for TV, but I think someone's compiled a bunch of Horikoshi's Horror Manga Panels for My Hero and it's excellent.

I think it’s rivet stab mixed with forced quirk activation and that’s why there are red lines in the black tendrils, you hear all for one say forced quirk activation when he was fighting all might and it was the same red lined black tendrils.

We see in this episode that Bakugo and Deku truly take after each other when their backs are against the wall. Deku said he starts hurling insults when he gets into a really intense fight like Bakugo. Where his confidence flares up and he has an overwhelming desire to win. And in this episode, Bakugo embraces Deku's behavior of running out to save whoever needs help. Anyone, even if the other person feels they don't need it. When Deku is pushed into a corner, he adopts Bakugo's win to save mentality. And now Bakugo has adopted Deku's save to win mentality. They both care about each other so much. Now onto Shiggy, that boy has the endurance of a lifetime. Taking blasts from Endeavor. Strikes from a dragon. Blasts from Bakugo. Multiple 100% smashes from Deku. All while resisting AFO's voice in his head. In fact, the only reason AFO was able to temporarily take over was because Shigaraki's body and mind were overwhelmed for a second. Which says a lot about Tomura's sheer willpower. Both sides are going beyond their limits.

We saw the "rivet stab" quirk which impaled Bkg and Endeavor during AFO vs AM. He used it to fling AM around as well as a conduit for another quirk, forcible quirk activation. One of my favorite episodes so far from this season, it was absolutely jampacked and the character writing is excellent. Many season 1 flashbacks and some translation differences from the Japanese version. So let me talk a bit about that because it all ties to a plot point I'm personally very interested in: In the manga and subs, Bakugou's "even if OFA is some kind of cursed power, it's still our only hope" is instead "even if OFA is a cursed power, OFA is..." and the rest is left ambiguous. That's always given me the impression that Bakugou has mixed feelings on the quirk: It might be cursed but it's the only power that can match AFO. It's allowing Deku to live out his dreams but is also destroying his body. It came from AFO but in the hands of AM it inspired a whole generation of young heroes, etc etc. And while saying "OFA is our only hope" puts emphasis on the quirk, I think it being left ambiguous with flashbacks to AM and Deku puts more emphasis on the wielders instead. "From now on Deku is the name of a hero" was originally "I'm the Deku who always does his best" in Japanese. And instead of Deku quivering in his shoes as he stands up against Katsuki in a training exercise, we get a shot of Deku now, looking feral and wild and spraying blood everywhere with his arms all messed up. It's scary: He's the Deku who always does his best and his best is currently killing him. Bakugou is aware of how Deku's heroic spirit can be detrimental to his health while we've only ever seen it be praised before. Lastly, Deku's "that's why I'm here" as he punches Shigaraki was "that's what this power is for" in Jp, and it's sad how he doesn't seem to think of himself as a part of OFA, but as a vessel for it.

I've never seen a character cries as much as Deku but Deku's crying is probably one of the best moment in this show. From crying for himself not being able to be a hero, to crying from rage of not being able to protect his mentors and comrades. Both reasons made him charge head first into danger. A statement to not underestimate an emotional man. Made me worry of what he could become if he's being pushed too far. Will he able to save people with all his might and a smile on his face like superman. Or will he be on a mission to exterminate all evil by any means necessary with a face of rage like the punisher.

in the manga its even better at creating that ethereal monstrous feeling for shiggy, it doesn't translate very well to the anime just cause of the manga being in black and white, but shiggy's hair in the manga is specifically drawn without any outlines so it looks like its PURE white and almost glowing. i really recommend looking up the artwork for the cover of volume 25, the one where shigaraki wakes up from the tank cause it gives the vibe really well of how the manga showed him.

Oh man! As a Manga reader, I've been so hyped to see peoples reactions to the insanity that is the War arc. Episode Spoilers, Just to be on the safe side. Bakugo taking that hit for Deku is the peak moment of the Arc for me. From Bakugo's incredible Character growth. (As an aspiring author, if someone would ask me for advice about improving their characters development I will always suggest looking at Bakugo's.) Then I get chills as Bakugo says, similarly to Deku in episode 2. "In that moment... I didn't think or plan. My body just moved on its own." All might, at the end of episode 2 says to Deku. "Many top hero's have stories from their school days, Moments where their bodies just moved an acted on their own." The title, "Katsuki Bakugo: Rising." is perfect for the episode. He finally has his big Hero moment. But sorry for ranting 😅 Love your reactions, from slowly realizing whats happening, leading up to an onslaught of "No no no no!" from the couch. No was the only word I could muster while reading up to the moment he took the hit too. Can't wait for the rest of the Arc. 😄
