Nah, it's how these journal corporations work. It's the classic quote from IGN: We don't hire people who know or understand literally ANYTHING about videogames, we hire people who know how to write. Meaning the writer and the reader of the script are COMPLETELY detached from the subject matter where more often than not, they are completely disinterested to the subject matter. It's why all these reports come off as soulless, because they literally are. These corps don't cover stories they care about. And when covering a story, they don't get someone with a background or personal interest to specialize in the area of the subject matter. Meaning this story was written and read not by someone who has any interest in anime most likely. It's a malpractice in the field journalism of low-job-requirements/unspecialized job positions. . . which is why journalists get such a bad rap.

Pretty sure its intentional for comments. They pronounced adecemia differently- acad-EE-mia, acad-AY-mia over emphasising the ay, then back to acad-EE-mia and over emphasised the EE on another occasion.

MHA and pretty much all anime is made specifically for a Japanese audience. Especially the ones that start out as Manga or light novels, the author doesn't think about western audiences, they make what they want and if enough Japanese fans like it, it get's made into an anime, and if enough Japanese people watch it, it get's an English dub/sub. As for the show. I am not going to tell you you'll like it, but it's worth a try. I wrote it off based on the name and the art style at first too, but I have since watched the whole show and ended up reading the manga for quite a while as well.
