IMO Bakugo should have died and this series would have been more impactful or make jeanist do it since he is his mentor instead we get an asspull from edgeshot great episode nonetheless but reading this when it came out always ticked me the wrong way deku could have seen it as a way to keep fighting since he lost his best friend sigh shonen being shonen

I replied this to someone else, but since it's about the same thing, I'm going to copy and paste this: "I agree it is an impactful scene especially, especially if you consider one of the main issues the show aims to address - a society that can't protect it's children is failing (not the right way to put it exactly I think, but oh well). One of the main reasons Shigaraki is what he is right now is because society failed him as a child and that enabled AFO to swoop in, brainwash and groom him for his own purposes. The fact that everyone here wanted to save Bakugo no matter what and would even sacrifice their own life for him is (in my opinion) a commentary that even though this society isn't perfect and makes many mistakes, there are heroes who are doing what needs to be done. There is hope for this society after all. It has it's weaknesses (that AFO is exploiting) but it's something we can work on if people (heroes AND civilians) stay pro-active/involved 💗" I would love to see, at some point, just a brief glimpse of an alternate reality/timeline where someone actually reached out to shigaraki before AFO got to him... even just a civilian who sat next to him, after having called a hero organization, talking about the weather or anything simple to momentarily comfort a terrified child.
