Brandon, check out the wire spring trap made for beavers. They go in the water in front of the disruption you make in their dam. it is slim and unnoticeable to the beaver, and they swim right into it. Al at Lumnah Acres as well as a couple other channels use them. They work like a charm. Beavers are too smart for cage traps.

Just get the water moving and put your traps where the water is moving make sure you attach the chain to the trap then to the pole you hammer into the ground use the hammer and use 2 poles to the chain and the trap
