I am so happy that you didn't tone down your reason for wearing the hijab to non-muslims, said it's an obligation and wasn't a bit shy or insecure about explaining your believes.
@ElifNurMuhammad3 жыл бұрын
Yesss, thats what I said. There are other youtubers that sugar coat it and say it isn't an obligation. That get super annoying 😒 😆 cause it's like straight up in the Quran, a command from Allah
@MrKLeBlanc3 жыл бұрын
What is an obligation... Being modest or the piece of fabric (veil)? Here's why i'm asking this question: A veil to cover hair has been used by many non Muslims people all over the world throughout History for various reasons other than modesty. For example, it can be used as a symbol to show belonging to a culture , a community, etc. or just as a fashion accessory to look more attractive. Modesty is a mode of dress and deportment which intends to avoid the encouraging of sexual attraction in others. What If a woman with a forehead that is not attractive and with hair that is not attractive put on a veil (that has been used as a beauty accessory for centuries) to cover what is unattractive and doing so making herself instantly look more sexually attractive to others. In other words if a woman is more sexcually attractive with a hijab on , Isn't she more modest by not wearing it? God (ST) in the Quran makes use of parables , metaphors (amthal) very often to make us understand what he wants from us. God (ST) gave us a mind able of critical thinking so we could ask ourselves questions and not just follow blindly. Remember Ibrahim (SAWS) when he asked his elders why do they worship statues that can do them no good nor bad and they answered that they found their parents doing it and their parents before them so they just took them as models and kept doing it. It's hard to lose an old habit… I'm a man, the hijab doesn't concern me or does it… I'm not writing this comment regarding Hijabs... lt must be quite clear by now: I just want people to use the mind God (ST) gave them and keep *working* it hard to find the truth and not just follow too literally, blindly... (You can read multiple times throughout the Quran : "And He gave you hearing, sight, and intellect/understanding")
@NarutoUzumaki-ky5jn3 жыл бұрын
K Le Blanc yeah well hijab isn’t just a veil. Covering yourself from head to toe that is not tight will not make you look more sexually appealing, which is the whole point of modesty. Also not all English words can be translated properly to Arabic words. The actual word used for veil in the Quran is called Khimar, which is a garment that specifically covers your neck, shoulders and hair
@MrKLeBlanc3 жыл бұрын
@@NarutoUzumaki-ky5jn Thank you for sharing your arguments. I figured "piece of fabric" would be broad enough to include everything that is used to dress modestly. Consider this: If you put a snake on a table and cover it completely with a piece of fabric to the point you can't guess what is underneath . How close could you get someone that has "snake phobia" (ophidiophobia) to that table compared to bringing that same person to that table without the piece of fabric… My point was to say that if it is modest to hide attractiveness, it can be the opposite to hide unattractiveness. There is more to modesty than a piece of fabric...
@MrKLeBlanc3 жыл бұрын
@@Sxrr8822 My whole point is that people tend to take things too literally and focus too much on appearances and forget the deepest meaning behind the parables of the quran and here you are speaking about the differences between a veil and a hijab. I differentiated/separated the piece of fabric and modesty on purpose to make my point more clear: People focus on the piece of fabric and forget about the modesty meaning behind it. Modesty is more complex than just the piece of fabric. And my question was what if a woman is more attractive with a hijab on than without…

I love what you said about wearing the hijab at 9 as opposed to 11 or 12. I also wore it at 9 and people often say “don’t you become more knowledgeable as you get older” and honestly, no. i actually think I had a better, more pure judgment at 9 than at 12 when my judgment was clouded with thoughts or boys, self esteem, insecurity, etc.

@Zaynab Mahmood Chaudhry the only advice I can leave here, is to wear it when your ready. I’m 24 and I started wearing mine last year, I converted like 5 years ago. You’ll know when your ready, my husbands sister and mother didn’t wear theirs until they got married. It doesn’t make you any less Muslim if you don’t wear it. I know plenty of Muslim women who don’t wear hijabs, that are better by the book Muslims then hijabis. I also did a lot of test runs wearing hijabs to see if I was ready to commit to it. I’d recommend taking a test drive.
@ElifNurMuhammad3 жыл бұрын
@Zaynab Mahmood Chaudhry my advice is to know that you're wearing it because Allah made it an obligation and we will be judged for everything. So I look at it, that I'm pleasing Allah 😌 and also that way I don't have to worry about being questioned about it on judgment day. Wearing it for me also is a reminder that I'm Muslim and reminds me to try and do better with my daily deeds and such. BTW I'm a convert , I started wearing pretty soon after I took shahada and haven't taken it off since alhamdulillah ☺ I think its beautiful and match it with all my clothes . I think we as hijabis tend to wonder what others will think if we wear it and we always think its gonna be negative but it's honestly not , its all in our minds.

Wake up in e middle of the night and pray to Allah that he allow you to wear proper hijab for his sake, first and foremost. May Allah make it easy on you and us all. Ameen. ❤️

And am still adding a list of things as to why I put it on almost a year ago. It's a visual reminder of me being muslim. Of needing to be intact with my faith, of reminding myself to not get tempted by sinful things, of not repeating mistakes that to against Islam that were risky for me. All these things. It's like an alarm of to do list things as a Muslim. Thank you for tickling my brain. 💜 Inshallah may you always shine.

Beautiful video. This is so helpful Jasmine. The part about learning to see yourself & accept yourself without make up. I went through this too, it’s a hard process. But the result is so worth it

i just absolutely love the fact that you tell everyone straight when it comes to religion you do shy away from the rules given to us by Allah at times you see others beat around the bush and not be clear what Allah commands us to do and say their opinion which doesn't matter when it comes to the religion and that confuses ppl

I just love your Chanel. I'm non-Muslims but I really respect and love the way you speak about your religion. I've allways been intersting and you explain it soo good. I really love how you explain and how you allow people not judging other for any reason. I've seeing lots of mulsims judging or speaking in a bad way about Occidental people and that doesn't like me. But you are just amazing. I love yoir videos and your bilives. Gretting from Cuba. PD:I do think you look beautiful with your hijab it shows who you are and that is amazing . And your outfits, I really love it.

Greetings from the U.S. I love cuba 🇨🇺 one day I hope to go to vacation there. Muslims are people who follow the religion of islam. A muslim is not guarenteed heaven, they have to be a good person and not do bad deeds. I am sorry that you've seen some muslims judging others because what they are doing is incorrect.

Hey Jasmine I really enjoyed this kind of video. I struggle with being bullied at school for being a Muslim I get called and thrown with ugly names and remarks subtly . I want to wear hijab one day but idk if I could with all the bullying

My daughter is 5 and i encourage her to wear the hijab in the future with my actions and my love for hijab, i twirl in my dresses and say i feel like a princess when i leave the house in hijab, she loves that idea and has so many hijabs and dresses of her own, she wears them around the house as play. I also tell her that if she decides to wear hijab in the future that she'll recieve gifts like make-up, nail polish, earings that she can wear, she also loves that idea.
@almedina60133 жыл бұрын
@R Lumière Éclairante i know, she would wear nail polish only on special occasions, if guests come over. Make up as well. I'm a strong practicer of the sunnah who doesnt wear neither nailpolish or make up and have a knowledgable husband who has a teacher od shariah, dont be quick to make assumptions. These things were stated as gifts.

As salamou aleykoum Jasmine! I usually don't post much on YT but I genuinely loved the way you answered those questions. 👏🏼 Especially in a time where lots of sisters decide to remove the hijab (and "advert it"), not wear it at all or just the fact that people try to diminish the value of the hijab by saying it's not an obligation. Our only purpose here is to serve God and to submit, not to please others, men or women. May Allah bless you and your family and may Allah strengthen our iman! 🤲🏼

The level of articulation you convey is a very attractive quality! You go girl ! Perhaps an older jasmine may consider becoming a counselor for young Muslimahs within your community like a program of some sort would be so beneficial imo 💕 I pray you stay steadfast in Islam sister
