I can assure you if someone is body shaming a skinny person it is because they are jealous! They wish that they are ur size...
@summershabana44844 жыл бұрын
Ashley Scott skinny people can be body shamed! that’s not the argument. it’s the fact that skinny ppl don’t generally talk about their body shaming struggles unless it is in the context of a plus size person talking about this struggles. additionally, skinny people are in a higher position such that their body shaming in now way equates to that of plus size people. body shaming affects everybody and is a product of sexism generally (although it is beginning to have an upward trend in the male community) but the world was created for skinny people. Doorways, chairs, airplane seats were all built with skinny people in mind. Even the word fat has always had a negative connotation. The clothing industry only recently began to represent plus size people but many types of clothing have yet to be inclusive and it is often more expensive for plus size people. Plus size women face discrimination and sexual abuse at younger ages and are often forced to grow up and girls because of their bodies. even in the context of the Muslim community, it is so much more difficult for a plus size Muslim woman to be modest. this isn’t to say skinny people don’t struggle. Everybody struggles but the struggle related to body shaming is not equal for skinny and plus size people.

Not Muslim myself, but 25% Lebanese and always loving your channels. As to the comment on the weight, I 100% agree with you- commenting on people's weights, in general, is terrible. E.g. telling a person you have lost so much weight and look so skinny to a person with anorexia might make her/him feel pressured to stay that skinny, or lose even more weight or even be a trigger for the person to keep going with the eating disorder because he/she will feel the need to keep going with the eating disorder (even if the comment is meant to tell the person that he/she does not look healthy and should gain weight).

I am a sunni and I read this quote somewhere which quite literally changed my mindset forever It was : that if to be a sunni is to follow sunnah of our Rasool pbuh,then there is no greater sunni than Ali r.a ( we all will agree how our calipeh was a true Muslim and the first kid to be a Muslim and it's no joke how our prophet pbuh loved him so much) And if being a shia was to love Ali, then in this world there is no bigger shia than our own prophet pbuh, (we have so many hadiths in our books which literally prove that) ,jazakallah khair, may God bless our souls. We don't know what's right or what's wrong, we are all fed by the society, I've seen shia people, never heard even one of them having a toxic mentality, pretty sure there might be some of them who are doing shirk, but not all, they believe in tawheed,they believe in our prophet pbuh, they only thing that they do extra is loving our prophets family, how is that wrong. Please brothers and sisters,this thing right here is bidah, when we talk about each other in a derogatory way that's bidah, God doesn't like it. If today after reading this even one Muslim will change his mindset and respect other humans I'll think my purpose will be completed. Don't hate, Islam teachs us to become humans, not to spread hate. Don't let the stereotypes about us come true. Allah swt will reward us all in akirah ,ameen.

Essentially our goal is Heaven and there's many paths to it & God is merciful. Most of the conflict is based in history and falsified history where both sides play a blame game which is currently fueled by the older generation (at least how I currently see it in my community) revolving around imamat- mostly around Ali and his family. Regarding the question on Shia or Sunni. Nowhere in the Quran does it mention Shia or Sunni. Quran mentions in Surah Al An'aam Chapter 6, verse 159. "Oh prophet, anyone who makes divisions, who makes sects in the religion of Islam, you have nothing to do with him", Allah will look after their affairs on the day of judgement. So anyone who calls themselves anything other than a Muslim, is not a Muslim. You should just give this answer to anyone who asks you this question again. Hope this helps.

Then why do Shia books call Sunnis as "filthier than dogs" & that its ok to "steal from a Sunni or lie to him"..??
@14mahreen3 жыл бұрын
In reply to your comment. There is something called a good muslim and a bad muslim. Just because a group of muslims do a bad thing by calling another group of muslims as you said in your comment. This doesn't mean that is what Islam is and they are 100% perfect muslims. If you want to know what Islam is, you need to go and read the Qur'an in the language you understand best. And this goes for all religions. As I said, there is not sunni, shia in islam, so if anyone calls themselves anything but a muslim, then they are wrong from the start, as per the Qur'an, not me. You want to read all the Shia books which say bad things about sunni, as you said, then why don't you also read the Qur'an and learn what Allah says about those who speak bad, and who makes divisions in the religion of Islam. Hope that answers your question.

To those of you complaining about her wearing makeup defeats the purpose of a hijab or that there’s nothing Islamic about it ..... spirituality is not cut and dry ... there’s nothing wrong with what she’s doing... it’s the intention .. fashion is a passion of hers which includes makeup .. she doesn’t do it for attention .... if the intention was to garner lust than wearing the makeup would then be bad ... but you can see the purity in her eyes she genuinely enjoys makeup ... your soul and spirit is judged on the alignment with the intention .

most people i know, especially jordanians and palestinians, usually ask the “sunni/shia” question in a very derogatory and condescending way. some believe that shia muslims are not muslim at all...i am jordanian, and i believe that it shouldn’t matter which sect someone follows. like she said, we’re all muslim. dont worry all you sunnis reading this, i’m sunni🤦🏻♀️

With the weight comments, yes! I’ve always been quite petite and slim and my sister even more so. I’m only 5’2 but she’s 4’11 and people constantly would comment saying “you should eat a burger”, “you look anorexic”, or “you look sickly” like dude, that’s so rude. It is honestly just as hurtful as saying “you look like a pig, lose some weight” like you would NEVER say that to someone because it’s extremely hurtful. It goes both ways.

I can totally relate to people calling me out for being skinny when I was younger. It’s funny how when I was a kid family and aunties/uncles were always like “do you eat air” and now that I’m older everyone’s like “mashallah your so slim”. I was always so self conscious of being skinny when I was a kid.

I 100% agree! That it’s not OK to pass comment about your skinny figure... I was like yourself and still am quite a skinny person and honestly I had family friends who would like to comment in social gatherings about my weight and that if something was wrong with me. Conversely I have also been chubbier at the age of 15/16 years and people have commented that I need to be loosing weight and stuff. So people are never happy with you and feel free to shut them off whenever needed which I never did out of respect. Their comments never affected my self esteem but it was annoying and embarrassing at the moment when they were said because what can I really reply in return lol? So it was quite awkward 😌
