Awesome sauce! You can hide the sidebar by going to your profile settings (bottom of the sidebar) and toggling on the "always hide the sidebar" setting. For guided access, the settings vary a little based on what iPad you're using. Apple has a good support document for this: support.apple.com/guide/ipad/use-guided-access-ipada16d1374/ipados

Do you have anything that covers the iPad configuration and how you're controlling the iPads screen on/off assuming you're not just having it be on 24/7?

I am running it 24/7. I have it in guided access mode, which essentially just locks it into staying inside the iPad OS Home Assistant app.

How did you integrate Ring into Home Assistant? I've used the standard Ring integration when I first installed HA, ie the suggested integration. However, it has a few limitations that won't let me do what you've done. Firstly it doesn't integrate the alarm, and as you mentioned it doesn't do any sort of live view either.

Hey Matt - the Ring MQTT integration is what you’re looking for. I seem to recall getting it via HACS. I still haven’t been able to get true live view to work natively, but Ring Alarm does work perfectly.

Great insight. Quick question if you can help. I have also Integrated Ring Into home assistant it’s pulled all the sensors, battery status, ding, motion ect ect but not the camera feed. Is there something I am missing for this to happen, maybe ring protect plan is required for this to happen? Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I’m not entirely sure if protect plan is required. I’ve always had it, and I suspect it is. Do you get snapshots in the Ring app? Those snapshots are what load in my HA dashboard. I’ve created a tap action to load the live feeds directly from Ring’s site in a new tab.

It’s just a webpage card, pointing to the URL of their custom widget that I created on their website.

@ErnieB-007 you need to only use the URL embedded in the widget code. It will start with and on continue to the end of the url. Basically up until ‘>

There’s a bit of custom coding in here and a ton of references to entities that are uniquely mine. All that to say, from a privacy perspective and a “it won’t really help you because it’s all labeled to things uniquely named in my environment”, I will not be sharing my code. :(

I think MyQ have shot themselves in the foot with this stupid move. Not only will there garage door hardware get replaced but many disgruntled HASS user will complain, spreading the word that this company isn't smart home friendly.
