I just experienced a natural home birth myself and I could totally relate to you. Since I had my first child in the hospital I can tell the difference and I would always just want to give birth at home again. It was so peaceful and undisturbed and I was so in my power and aware. No one but me was in charge. And I would always have a midwife there. Mine was phenomenal. She let me do my thing and only intervened when necessary. My son was stuck for 10min after the head was out because his umbilical cord was twisted around his shoulder. I didn't know what to do so I'm glad she was there to tell me and help the baby twist out. Congratulations to you.

Oh my god! Shannen! I loved hearing about your birth story 💚💚💚 My daughter was also born during a spring thunderstorm ⚡️such primal energy. I tore too, but externally, in the front 😳 not comfy. I’d like to share some more of my birth story as well, since it was a homebirth and I feel it might support others who are interested in that process. My water broke very slowly… over the course of 8 days (doula-supervised). The contractions weren’t strong until day 6. On the 8th day I woke up suddenly, about 2am and all the rest of the water came out (did your water break in public??). I’d had the urge to sleep on the basement bed that night, which was highly unusual. I too tried to delay my pushing (at the advice of my doula) until she arrived, but once she did I pushed for about 1.5 hours, assisted by my partner at the time since my doula wasn’t technically allowed to touch me. Lol the neighbors DEFINITELY heard me “howling,” heck I’m sure the whole neighborhood heard me. 💚 🦁

thank you so much for sharing your story! you are so knowledgeable about true healthy living and i love that you aren't swayed by propaganda and indoctrination. you are so based! i love the way you talk so calming and reassuring and i love your whole vibe! your birth story was so beautiful, you are so strong! birth is something that scares me especially hearing your bleeding complications afterwards, it sounded pretty serious, were you scared at any point? how did you know it was going to be ok and that you didn't need to go to the hospital? i'm also super interested in living in costa rica and was wondering how you go about searching for long term accommodation that isn't airbnb? thanks so much i love your content :)

Congratulations beautiful 💖 so happy for you. You will be the most incredible Mum 🙌🏼 I have had two home water births & could not imagine not being in water as it helped my back pain so much but you did amazing. How long do you plan to stay in Costa Rica for? Would love to see more of it. We live in Gold Coast, Tallai area which is out of town enough but not too far from everything ❤

This is some insight you might find interesting: my sister-in-law was someone who did a lot of physical excercise and a lot of healthy eating, and doing breathing excercises and such and... Quite curiously she laughed a lot the day before she gave birth, we think that helped a lot to carry out the baby in a better way, (and maybe even accelerating it) she laughed so much that she started leaking fluids, she was taken to the hospital immediately, and she says that she didn't suffered one bit, and that the baby came out really easy. I think one of the things that difficulted things more and made them more painful was the same fact that you spent so much time without appropiate guidance during the birthing process. Anyways I hope this is useful some way, im still curious, was that an astrologer that predicted all of this? Do you know what kind of method this person used?

I absolutely love your story! Its beautiful! However you do stop being a maiden once you lose your virginity not when you become a mom. Maiden and virgin are literally the same thing. It means sexually intact or sexually inexperienced woman.

It's too risky, your choice is limited to what you want and what is better for the child, and what is known to work.

You are probably white or Western. In many countries in South America, Africa and Asia, women give birth alone at home without problem. The overmedicalization of hospitals is responsible of tragedies And fatal births

She explained how hard it would have been to transfer and get out of the jungle... imagine if the baby got stuck and his heartbeat was getting weaker and emergency C-section was needed. I think it is smarter to be somewhere where u can easily access care in those situations. Our bodies aren't perfect and each new generation has more mutations than the previous. We can NEVER know what will happen in our labor. This is why i personally chose homelike environment in a hospital surrounded by only my midwife and husband. It would be hard to forgive yourself if your baby dies because you chose to give birth far from the hospital. The chance of this happening is not 0% so why risk your own childs life?
