I have a prayer request - I have been praying to have my cup overflowing with trust, joy and peace in the Lord. I am currently 5 weeks pregnant and after a loss in the past, I find myself not trusting God as much as I should and feeling anxiousness and fear. If you would kindly pray for us I would appreciate it so much! This child is such a blessing and I am already so in love. This babe is our 4th - 2 currently on Earth, one in heaven and the one in my belly. 😊

Even though I absolutely understand why you put your old videos down -as it does not reflect the way you want to live and inspire others like you already mentioned- I really miss those videos/vlogs. There may be some advices in it you wouldn't share as the woman you are now, but it was still full of wisdom and inspiration. Anyway, I'm happy for you that you found the way you want to spend your time here on earth. :)

Milena please please do a video on baby/toddler safety. I am 3.5m PP with my second son (2 under 2) and I’m definitely needing all the tips. I’m specifically struggling with my toddler running away and like you mentioned, the logistics of safely handling both of them. Also the strategies you use to help your toddler obey you! My son often laughs or tries to fight me when I try to assert boundaries

I love when you talked about the concept of “move on”. I am a ftm with a 3 month old, just beginning my sahm journey. It’s been hard to embrace the unstructured rhythm with the reality of things needing to get done. I’ve been reminding myself that babies don’t keep, and I can indeed rest and be still and have the contact nap. But - there are things that heed to get done (dinner, laundry, etc.), so the “move on” mentality came as such a blessing to me! Going to try to embrace that and just keep moving on to the next task as I go throughout my day.

I always breastfed my baby girl really well during the day....and she still woke up 4x during the night to feed. I stopped at 4 months, and went to only one feed at night until she was 7 months old. Every baby is different. She also ONLY would contact nap during the days until she was 8 months old. She's 14 months old now and sleeps 9-10 hours a night. It took almost a year for that to happen!

I'm really curious as a kenyan concerning the culture in America in general. Here,any household have nannies and house managers who help out and greatly reduce the house workload, especially cleaning and taking care of children moreso for working parents. I notice this is not really the same for the states, just wondering if getting nannies and house managers is not a norm, or is it just expensive???

@RCGWho
@RCGWho 2 ай бұрын
When you don't schedule feed and train them to go to sleep on their own, you have to do a sleep training that will involve a CIO cry it out method. Children get used to an erratic nonschedule, their circadian rhythm is messed up and requires retraining. I don't know what website or book or method younger mothers are using for this.
@hannahroseloftus97
@hannahroseloftus97 2 ай бұрын
Please know that sleep is developmental, you cannot ‘teach’ a child to sleep. They can only sleep through the night when they are ready developmentally, however there are things that you can do to assist them with the transition when they are ready. Consistent bed time for example (within half an hour). Also to consider, if your child is in another room than you they may be seeking your comfort and this is NOT a bad thing. Children’s survival relies on being close to mum so they naturally want to be close to you. Once I co slept and surrendered to the season of it, both my kids eventually just started sleeping through the night on their own without me doing anything other than reassuring them they were safe and settling them back to sleep every time they woke.
@hannahroseloftus97
@hannahroseloftus97 2 ай бұрын
CIO does NOT teach a child to sleep, it teaches them that when they are sad, hungry, scared, in pain, feel sick and cry out to their mum to seek comfort as their only form of communication, that mum will not answer or come to them. Their needs are still there, they just stop signalling out to mum for the comfort. They eventually tired from crying so much and pass out to save energy as a survival tactic. When done a few times they may not cry anymore and just lay there and fall asleep themselves but they have not ‘learnt’ to sleep, they learnt there’s no point crying out to mum as she will not answer.

I don't want to be slammed for it, but I'm still totally caught up on the fact we have no clue about your second son's name and I'm praying that I am able to give where you have rightfully asked for grace and where you have given us the grace of sharing your life with us in the first place Milena. With that said I really really respect this video format though, it's beautiful getting to see your home and go through life and your routine with you without you having to stop and take apart yours and your kids' routine or lives just to let us in, it feels somehow more intimate without being intrusive. Thank you for your honesty, thank you for your grace and thanks God for your spirit of discernment and perseverance to be able to accept changes and model that not just for your family but for us too.

I’m curious why you are homeschooling your kids even though your eldest just turned 5? Why not wait until the fall to start kinder? I’m sure it’s a personal decision and what not, just seems stressful to do homeschooling with a new baby when you don’t have to yet.

I homeschool my 3 year old right now and I started when she was 2. Simple things like colors, shapes, numbers, alphabet and praying are all important!!
