8:16 A UPS is a must!!! Also, the first time power kicks out on you and it kicks in, it's incredibly rewarding to just be able to chug on working in a blackout.

You're the only one I seen that showcases a UPS. Very nice. Everyone else focuses on aesthetics, instead of protective/preventative measures. One tip is that you can put the UPS on a CPU rolling stand or a cart with wheels so it's not directly on the carpet.

I have the Thunderbay 4 RAID enclosure and the Thunderbay 4 Mini. Until my old 2013 15" MBP finally started showing signs of thunderbolt failure, I had them in my garage as I was using the MBP as a home server. It was nice not having any noise at my setup since I'm running a 16" M1 Pro MBP. The Thunderbay Mini is pretty quiet since I'm running 4 x 2TB SSDs in it. I've heard and seen videos of people replacing the fans in these with Noctua fans to reduce the noise, but having mechanical drives, you're still stuck with some noise. I plan on making an enclosure/cabinet underneath my desk to hide a bit of the noise. I made a floating desk attached to my wall, so it would be cool to have some hanging cabinets underneath.

Jordan... just wanted to say thanks for uploading this. You're inclusion of the link for the Husky workbench as your second half of the desk showed me a way to get the L shaped desk I wanted for essentially half the cost of going the electronic standing desk route. Home Depot sells a longer version of the workbench that is the equivalent to the 62 inch desk. Cheapest route I found with the electronic route was just shy of $1200... and I get the same thing with the work benches for essentially $500-600 depending on what the tax is. And I can still raise the desk using the included handle, or go the desk conversion kit if it works with the work bench. Thanks again.

I like the tip about staggering the monitors so you don't have to crank your head so much. I've had a third monitor setup as of the last couple of months and although I totally love it, I feel like I have to turn my whole body to be comfortable looking at my right monitor for more than 5 minutes haha

We gotta' get you set up on Unraid! We could put it anywhere in the house (assume we can run LAN there). Can put all the drives in there including however many you desire for parity then throw a 1 or 2 tb NVME in as a cache drive for fast access to current/recent files. Aside from that, YMH is the best podcast on KZbin :D

Have you compared using a 34" or 38" UW screen instead of the 32" as your main screen? And if so, what did you like/dislike about them. I'm considering upgrading from my 2 x 24" (16:10) screens to a larger main monitor 32" / 34" / 38" while still keeping one for a secondary screen in portrait mode. Haven't decided the best option yet.

7:13 I have this chair and I installed an aftermarket hydraulic cylinder and wheels. Now it goes as high as my standing desk can and also rolls over carpet with ease. I have the second gen of the chair. It's almost too adjustable for my needs. I do like being able to tilt the angle of the seat and its proximity to the backrest

One more question those wall panels look good. I read they come in a 12 pack I think I counted you have 49 if I’m correct so around 4 packs of 12 is that about right? 3 years in and the cushion on MY autonomous Ergochair's seat is still quite soft and firm. While I agree the cushion could be done better, its still holding up just like the day i got it. And that bottom out isn't really harsh at all for me, though I AM only 130 LOL!

Cool office, but why not just move the desk over to where the TV is at, mount the TV to the wall above the desk with a full motion vertical wall-mount (so that you can pull it down over the screen when watching movies etc) and save up all space by the window? Just curious
