Well the alcohol burns off in the baking, I can see making a small amount with vegetable glycerin for non baking purposes like making coffee drinks. I switched to rum in my extracts. Please note after 3 months of storage you will have gotten your full strength of extract with alcohol, you need about 9 months with glycerin. I learned this the hard way, I have stored up to two years on the vanilla, and the three month and the 2 year tasted the same. I use extracts for baking primarily so I will stick to decanting after three months. I do not use my beans over I start with fresh vanilla beans.

Way to go! Your extracts are great! You can make medicinal tinctures in the same manner by making extracts of herbs and spices. Clove, cinnamon, fennel, mullein, echinacea, Joe Pye root, elderberry~~you name it! Then, you have natural medicines on hand. I haven't used glycerin for making extracts/tinctures so I don't have the method on the top of my head, but the methods are all over the internet and it's easy. I will say that I always dry, or at leas wilt "green" herbs (flowers, leaves, etc.) before making extracts so you don't end up with mold from the water content. Love your channel! God bless you.

Vegetable Glycerin IS an alcohol. Glycerin is a sugar alcohol derived from animal products, plants or petroleum. @@CopperHueCollectionsChippewa - glycerin alcohol doesn't break down in cooking or baking - thus causing the same liver damage as drinking alcohols.
