Since the 80's I've wanted to build a dual axis tracker but using bi-metal springs beneath magnifying lenses, allowing the Sun's heat on any spring to pull the tracker back inline keeping it centered on the Sun without electricity, motors, etc.

new subscriber here. we have just started building our homestead and homestead channel on you tube. we are going to be installing solar panels with a tracker also. I have gotten some great ideas from your videos. looking forward to seeing more.

The tracker should improve your power production by 30% give or take. Your add-on project is very much worth the effort. Great video.

don't forget the Comcast out door boxes haha. great video and great job..... thanks. thumbs up.. ya that is like 1 gauge or even 0 gauge that is a Thick wire = over kill.. nice... them wind generator blades look like Missouri Wind and Solar raptor blades.. even better.. Nice setup and great video.. thanks Larry..

I want to build a farm with pole mounted solar panels around it. I need to use utility poles about 20 feet and a *tracker* that can stand up to the weight. So i have a question... is a tracker used to move the array toward the sun?

Pretty good wire your using for you run from the house to the panels I m thinking. I ran that kind for 220 to my shed after I burnt a 8 gauge wire almost in two, welding. Maybe I should get a heavy aluminum stranded wire for my run. What gauge is that you are using for your run to the house? How much voltage drop did it have?

Should counterweight these designs to reduce tracking torque and offset wind effects.

Is it some kind of law in America that electrical installations need to have messy wiring? I watch a lot of KZbin videos lately and on 90+% of them whenever an American builds something the wiring is just a mess. I even saw it in an RV which I rented over there. I had to reset a circuit breaker cause the AC made it pop and when I opened the box I got tears in my eyes. Such a mess. Is this the ANSI way or is it dictated by UL?

Hi Larry that's a nice project and I'm planning to do one myself il there a way to have better details on the mechanical part in order to keep it simple

If you answer questions, how does this structure handle high wind loads? How much do you estimate it cost to build? Can you mount it lower to the ground or would your wife object? What was the increase in efficiency? I like it, your very inventive and this unit appears to be the most simple, practical and cost effective design that I've seen. Suggestion, weather proof the combiner box doors using foam seals.

zeogiannes So far it's done very well in the wind I had 90 percent laying around about $200.00 dollar Can you mount it lower to the ground YES What was the increase in efficiency? 40% Thank Larry

Just wanted to tell you since no one else has, but the breakers are worthless on DC. Those breakers you're using are for AC power, won't do anything for DC.
