Love this. You are the best college professor, I am minor in business marketing, and you are my marketing branding professor. With a PhD in linguistics. So brilliant loved hearing all the languages you can speak, and how engaged you were with the students making class fun and enjoyable. You have so many gifts, but certainly one and engaging and bringing out love and uniqueness in humans and tgeir cultures. Making them feel heard and understood what an exciting adventure. I love this too. I am considering moving back to China to work at Kang Chiao outside of SH, if I can navigate and trust the visa process! I came across this lovely tribute to your journey. I had an experience similar to yours, in that my great-grandparents immigrated to the US from Lebanon. I actually taught in Beirut for a year! I was able to visit their village on the border with Occupied Palestine a few times, very surreal and magical. I helped my distant cousins pick olives, visited the ancestral chapel, etc. It is truly amazing what manifests in our lives!
