Ik this video is about 5 months old but the blown engine topic is more of an issue of the 2.0T Genny. The 3.8 are engines are naturally aspirated so they're more reliable just like any other v6 like the G35/G37 and 350z/370z. As long as you keep up with maintenance then you have nothing to worry about.

I bought a 2016 3.8 Ultimate 6MT in 2019. It had 6000 miles when i got it (now has 45k) and it is my daily driver. Looking forward to the new exhaust on your car - it looks like it's in great condition.

@Bk2.Kantrell Nope, I bought it online from car gurus. An old couple traded it in for a Buick! They probably only drove it to church on Sunday 😂😂😂

@@Unknown-vv1td I’d only recommend it if you get one that’s been well taken care of. If u can find one with the proper maintenance and decent miles then I would say yes! Also I would recommend bringing a mechanic to check it out to see if it’s worth it as a lot of people have ran through these cars/motors.

I love the brown leather, but the quality isn’t there. The rear seat are all dried and rock solid. I got the Stillen dual exhaust, it sounds louder in the car than if you’re behind the car itself. A lot shaking noise at different rpms. Overall pretty happy the 3.8, it has enough power to have fun. I’ve tracked it a couple time and still running great. I get a lot of compliments in Michigan. I recommend installing a catch can.

im about to buy a 2013 3.8 track with 77k miles. what are ur recommendations to keep the engine healthy. this is going to be my daily for a few years.
@Bk2.Kantrell7 ай бұрын
I would say just change the oil every 3-5k miles and keep up with maintenance. If u plan to modify the car try to do it one at a time just in case u run into an issues. Also before u buy make sure maintenance is up date and regular oil changes. one of the the main reasons the car engine blows is because of low oil. So check ur oil weekly

11 year owner here. I have a bone stock track model with the Lambda GDI 3.8L V6, the Brimbo brake package, and a set of MD Motoring Chrome 7 mag 18" rims with 225 25 18 up front and 245 45 18 in the back. I haven't dealt with a lot of issues because I always had the scheduled maintenance done in a timely manner. 250k miles on the road, close to 90 oil changes. 1 set of head gaskets. 6 sets of brakes. 1 cat converter, because somebody stole the original, one rear end servicing, a new radiator, 8 sets of tires because I like launching to the speed limit, 3 batteries, 1 starter and solenoid and a Brake light switch that is connected to the ignition system. The cost of ownership hasn't been bad at all. fix a something here or there, that's it. but if everything is ignored, if the car has been neglected, it's going to rack up big time in the shop. If you bought one new, it really isn't very expensive. it all depends what has already been taken care of. and the older these cars get, the more care they need. but to this day, mine is a cannonballer. I've gone twice in it already and plan on doing it again from Long Beach to Manhattan again in april 2025.
