This is an incredible video! John Jay College is my dream school as an out of state high school student. If possible could you share your high school stats/extracurriculars in a video or response to this comment. I know it’s kind of asking a lot but it would be really helpful!

Please remember the following information regarding the Bachelor Master program in criminal justice: To qualify, you must not be enrolled in the strictly online program offered by the university. Instead, you should be in the regular criminal justice program. After completing your first semester, provided you have transferred and obtained between 70 and 80 credits, you can apply for the BA/MA program. You will need to have achieved a GPA of 3.5 or higher. The entire program comprises 134 credits. During the first 120 credits, you will pay the undergraduate price, which means you'll be taking some graduate classes at the undergraduate price. The remaining 14 credits are at the graduate level. Although some online classes are available, most of the classes are conducted in person or in a hybrid format. They also offer a master's degree program that is available separately and is entirely online and that program is 34 credits to complete. They also offer a completely online bachelor's degree program. If you sign out of the bachelor's degree program, you cannot re-enrol, but you can always enrol in the online bachelor's degree program. It is a relatively new program, and most students will be in the same classes. The program has few sections for each course, but limited number of professors, but the classes are much larger in size. With that being said if you choose to do the online BA there’s only certain professors and sections you can take and sometimes there’s only one professor teaching and it’s only asynchronous which is the downfall. if graduate school is your goal I would recommend going to the PhD program. You don’t need a masters degree to get a PhD. You only need a bachelors degree. regarding CUNY graduate school it is in the bottom 88% regarding acceptance rate and they only start in the fall and your application has to be in by January 1 and it is a five year program I hope some of this information is helpful. Here is the email for the BA/MA program as well as the link just remember it’s like applying to graduate school to be accepted Bamadirector@jjay.cuny.edu www.jjay.cuny.edu/academics/graduate-programs/bama-degree-programs

Thank you for a valuable insight .What's your opinion for a masters program like LLM does it offer the course?

I'm going there during the fall semester! I'm also going to be commuting from upstate, but I heard you can no longer take online classes for a whole semester. Is it true that it's 80% in person? Just curious since, like you said, commuting is super expensive.

I’m going to be commuting for one class in fall so I believe it’s just a mix of it still buttttttt I think they’re getting us back in there more and more as semesters go on

When it comes to the bachelor's program in criminal justice at John Jay, there are a few options for how classes are delivered. There's a regular program that includes a mix of online, hybrid, and in-person classes. However, as a trans student, you have the flexibility to choose online classes that are asynchronous. Zoom is used less frequently now, but it's still an option for some classes. It's worth noting that as a student, you're required to take a transfer seminar, which is only offered in a hybrid format, meaning it's in person. On the other hand, there's a completely online program where all classes are asynchronous. The transfer seminar for this program takes place over Zoom. However, there's less flexibility in terms of choosing professors and classes. Sometimes, there's only one professor teaching a particular course across different sections. It's possible to switch between the programs, but once you've switched out, you can't go back in. For example, if you decide to take a class in person and then switch out of the program for one semester, you won't be able to return to it for the following semester. To be accepted into the BAonline program, you're required to attend an info session and sign a contract. After that, you'll receive advisement and a list of section numbers for the online classes. You can then look up the sections online to see which professors teach them. www.jjay.cuny.edu/criminal-justice-online-self-guided-info-session new.jjay.cuny.edu/academics/undergraduate-programs/special-programs/criminal-justice-bs-online-program www.jjay.cuny.edu/academics/undergraduate-programs/special-programs/criminal-justice-bs-online-program/criminal-justice-bs-online-degree-requirements/criminal-justice-bs-online-program-courses
