So I had 3 different teachers for AS further maths: (I did CCEA Pure, Mechanics 1 and Statistics) Pure teacher: we (the 7 people in my class) walk into the classroom, pure teacher is already writing on the board. Chaotic. Fast paced, exciting. Mechanics: A NIGHTMARE I hated it, I couldn't mechanics. Statistics teacher: chill, laid back, fun, removed the boringness out of stats

I'm doing AQA and annoyingly they don't do a further pure option 😢 so I'm stuck doing discrete (decision) and mechanics. Pure is definitely the best so far, I love complex numbers and matrices, but polar coordinates are quite confusing. Discrete is weird with all the algorithms but game theory was quite interesting. Not looking forward to doing the mechanics next year! Anyway thank you for the video and good luck on your results!

I have a dilemma! I love maths and want to do both maths and further maths along with psychology for a level. However I want to go onto do psychology at university and although I can get into quite a lot of university with these a levels there are more universities that I could get into if I do a science and I would do this as opposed to further maths. I would do physics most likely. It’s really annoying because I want to do further maths but I don’t want to narrow my options. Got any advice?
@icequeen27782 жыл бұрын
You could try doing 4 a levels or maybe have the further maths as an AS level instead. I’d also recommend contacting the admissions office of the unis you’d like to go to and asking if they’d accept further maths instead of a science. Also I’ve heard that in some cases further maths can be counted as a science but I’m not sure if that’s true so make sure to check with the uni first!

So in vectors, did it offer the geometrical/agebraic aspect of vectors ( cross product/dot product/triple product/projection of any vector on other vector) or it also offers vector calculus? P.S.: I'm really sorry if this was too long, and thank you again!
@HarrySurplus4 жыл бұрын
Yeh! In Core Pure 1 we did dot product. & the cross product was in Further Pure 1 (but we didn’t get to that because of coronavirus 😭)

... and I think vector calculus is covered at degree level?

Oh ! Maybe vector calculus is at degree level, I was actually trying to learn partial differential equations and multiple integrals part of the calculus this summer and i saw the topic vector calculus at last, which was really interesting and so I thought, if it was in A levels, I would go through it. Thanks for the info though!

@@HarrySurplus Coronavirus really halted so many good things ! I found vectors at first extremely clumsy and confusing but later it was so so interesting!
