Here's how I see the dynamics. SS: The Squid Sisters are basically two old grandmas now, but in a good way. There's Callie who has fun with retirement, and Marie who's just really, really tired. They get along like cheese and a hamburger. I didn't play the first game, so I dunno if the dynamic is different. OTH: Off the Hook has two moods. Old married couple, and those two kids in every high school that take up an entire hallway to make out. Pearl has severe Napoleon Syndrome and Marina is both intimidated and attracted to it. DC: Deep Cut is that one group of 6th graders in the neighborhood that are always stealing rocks and shooting nerf guns at each other. Shiver is the weeb kid who gets in arguments with Frye over Goku fighting Saitama, Frye instigates the arguments with Shiver because she thinks it's funny when Shiver gets mad, and Big Man is the youngest child who wants to play cops and robbers.

Prongle Prongelion I'd say Callie and Marie's dynamic in Splat 1 was basically Callie being positive and enthusiastic and Marie being cynical. In Splatfests Marie was more about winning whearas Callie was more focused on the fun of it all. Marie also made fun of Callie a lot, mocking her and seemed to consider herself above her maybe. In Splatoon 2 and 3 I didn't pick up on that so maybe she's come to appreciate and accept Callie more for who she is as she's matured and could also have to do with the fact they're no longer really in the spotlight fighting for attention. Idk just my thoughts lol

Prongle Prongelion Also I just remembered Marie's mocking of Callie came to a head during a christmas splatfest where Marie is team nice and Callie is team naughty causing Callie to lose her cool and say it isn't fair that Marie is team nice since she's always so mean to her. Splat 1 also has one of the best pieces of dialogue from the idols imo. Callie: Time to swab the deck and plunder the booty! Marie: Woah there, Callie... let's keep this E for everyone!

Off The Hook is definitely my favorite idol group. Though there may be some bias since Splatoon 2 was my first game in the series, I love the depth Marina and Pearl brought to the Splatoon lore. Marina being an octoling idol was a big thing because octolings prior were only enemies you'd fight in Hero Mode from the first game. Marina and Pearl's bond signify the start of octolings being accepted into squid society (which let us play as octolings!) :)) I also loove the love and care they show each other, its sweet! And their back and forth banter is also pretty entertaining (however, I think Squid Sisters take the 1st place for banter as I find them funniest). The way they perform in the irl live concerts are my favorite as well. Pearl being the MC (master of ceremonies) with tons of energy to hype the crowd, and her unique voice being super recognizable. Her loose way of dancing is engaging and fun! You may say Marina doesn't get as much spotlight, but Pearl makes sure to give spotlight to Marina during her parts of the live concerts, supporting her and being wowed by her. There was a part where Pearl leans down and stands by Marina doing these cute little jazz hands towards her during Marina's parts of song. Also Marina can take the spotlight back herself with her powerhouse voice! She has impressive range and her voice is so smooth. I also like the detail that shes the main producer behind these songs and likes giving parts to Pearl (like how Big Man produces for Deep Cut). I feel the main thing about Off The Hook is that Marina and Pearl balance each other out, in their personalities, in their banter, their designs, their voices, their performances, and their music!

I like the Squid Sisters the most. I'm a sucker for complimentary colors, so Callie having black hair and pink accents, and Marie having white hair and green accents just works for me. Their names being Callie and Marie is genius, their personalities contrast eachother well, and City of Color/Maritime Memory plus their solos are bangers. I have no qualms with Off the Hook's designs, I never really gave them any thought and don't really love or hate them (visually) now. I like Off the Hook because they were given depth in Octo Expansion, but I wasn't fussed on most of their songs (Candy Coated Rocks is a banger, though). With Deep Cut, I don't really know I feel about them. Big Man is kinda goofy lookin' and I like that, Frye has a good energy but I'm honestly not big on Shiver (although she's made the best splatfest picks thus far imo). I'm not a huge fan of them as of now - I like their solos, especially Big Man and Frye's, but not their designs. I get that the whole point is for them to be different, but I like when things have a uniform look so I don't like their theme. So, Squid Sisters > Off the Hook > Deep Cut

Squid sisters are superior in every way haha. tbh tho they didn't get enough room to shine tho, I think its really unfair that they only had one splatfest battle song compared to off the hook with their army of songs. I love their energy and think their branding is the best out of all of them, they feel like a pop group from inkopolis whether the others are sorta there. I think if the developers knew where they were going earlier on or even a small campaign dlc in 1for Callie and Marie would have helped them immensely and could have given more room for battle tracks. I think that city of colour is the best plaza song they will make, its just so ethereal to me. They were definitely robbed by off the hook. I don't really see why people find them boring, perhaps you might have not had them as news broadcasters? I find their dynamic just really entertaining even 7 years later. Marie will take sophisticated shots at Callie and Callie always has a witty way of putting Marie in her place. I wish they could get another shot in the spotlight so bad

Here’s the thing with each group. Squid sisters: designs are pretty boring, but work. A lot of the hype around them is nostalgia from splatoon 1 veterans (splatoon one was the best game in the series lmao) over time I like the fact that they are still involved, and Marie is still best girl. Off the hook: designs are better, but personally aren’t great, I feel like pearl is a brat half the time (she is and you can’t deny it) and marina is alright, she has cool lore but is shadowed by pearl. Deep cut: designs are great, big man is great, Frye is great, songs are great, but something about shiver just… sets me off. She seems very much like the one kid in the class that no one talks to For me: squid sisters and deep cut are about the same, and off the hook is close behind. They are all good

Frye seems like the leader of the group, in cut scenes she is typically in the front and has the most dialogue while Shiver is the scary, psychopathic one that may or may not be imagining ways to kill everyone in her mind just for the fun of it and big man is moral support and keeps the ground together, he is the heart of the group and without him they would slowly fall apart.

Squid Sisters Adorable. They are just really lovable and their simple designs are a good thing. Callie is cute and energetic, while Marie is more serious. Compliments each other very well. Favorite: Marie 8/10 Off the Hook Oh boy. My favorite Idol Group. Pearl is adorable and her personality is fantastic. But Marina. Oh my gosh. Marina is the closest thing to perfection we will ever get in Splatoon. She is just darn near perfection. Her design is very appealing, and her personality is amazing. The fact that they are opposites is just incredible and leads to so many great interactions. Favorite: Marina 11/10 Deep Cut Ok. Let's cover my favorite part of them. The designs are quit interesting. Shiver has a really nice design. She looks pretty edgy and her fashion is cool, (No pun intended) and I just like sharks. Big Man is really cute and lovable. But dear Lord, Frye looks more deformed than the kid from the book/movie Wonder. Let's get the obvious out of the way. The Fifteenhead. It's the least of her weird design. Her ears are comically large. You could say the same about Shiver, but first off, her ears are round so it looks less awkward. Second off, they are, where they're supposed to be. Frye's ears are almost on her neck. And did you really need her mouth to be blue Nintendo? And why are her legs a couple toothpicks taped together? I am not a fan. Favorite: Shiver 6/10

I know no one cares, but in my opinion the Squid Sisters are a 9/10, because there’s so much missed potential they could have put in the story modes, instead of them just being there. Off the Hook is definitely a 10/10, their music is amazing, I’m super glad it plays in the Octo expansion, and the designs are really good, I can’t wait for the Splatoon 3 DLC with them. Finally, Deep Cut is just an 7/10, while they definitely have good music, and I love that they actually do something, even more then pearl and marina in Octo expansion, the boss fights are fun, but seriously SHIVER LOOKS LIKE A CREEP!

I love all the subtle layers to Deep Cut. Shiver seems mysterious and cold, but also like she's constantly about to monologue about her master plan. Frye seems like she'd be so chatty and a major oversharer, yet secretly hold deep secrets that no one but her knows, and honestly, I think she's secretly a genius. Big Man is only reluctantly going along with the schemes to support this buddies, yet is probably the most competent at them having a ridiculously difficult boss fight. Marina and Pearl are just, so, so good. I love them individually, and especially as a pairing, and I feel like it works to the benefit that Pearl is so much. Both of their backstories involve a rich kid with all the means in the world but not quite the right skillset perform alone, and an extremely multitalented prodigy who was unfortunately born into a military regime, and needed somewhere to go/a support system. Together, Marina makes all the backings, melodies, vocals, and Pearl raps and yells over them and probably managed to get them platformed. Squid Sisters are just, such a cute pop idol duo. Not a ton of depth, but just a humble backstory of talented cousins with contrasting personalities, I have a soft spot because they remind me of my cousin I grew up being besties with (they weren't into making music though, but kpop choreos together were fun!)

im going with the squssy sisters since they had the most time with a character. they had half of the first games storymode and were idols. in 2 the guide was marie and the final boss was octavio AND callie and once again they were the main guides in 3. they mainly get the most due to the whole squidbeak saga that seems to have come to a end. also yes i did call them the Squssy Sisters.

Honestly Off The Hook will forever have a special place in my heart. They have some of my favorite interactions with story mode. I don't remember much about the Squid Sisters in Splatoon 1 (didn't play enough of it as a kid), but their later designs in the game is really cool! They play off of each other really well in the story modes. I like Deep Cut, they have a wonderful energy. But I don't quite have the same connection to them as I did with the other 2 idol groups. I absolutely adored their fights in story mode, but I wish they were a lot more aggressively present. I wish they would have given the player a bit more of a compelling threat other than a few cutscenes. So they're the lowest ones for me (but they aren't super far low). Really though I like all three groups they are all so cool
