I'm filming a Q&A this week to answer ALL your questions about my USA road trip (and update you on my next adventure 😉) What questions do you have?

I loved your campah and was thinking of that same size for myself. Pros and cons you experienced while out on your adventure. Would you do it again in the same campah?

If you could put together a video of your favorite Harvest Host sites that would be great! Thanks!
@kelliyeowell56913 жыл бұрын
One of our favorite parts about being a part of Harvest Hosts is that we stop by locations we would never travel to otherwise, and I love supporting local businesses as well. Often times you meet the owner, which we also enjoy. Some of the stays have been our favorite part of our travel. Pleasant surprises for sure! We've been a part of them for a year, and have visited sites all over the country!

Aren't private campgrounds mostly "locally owned" too? We tried Harvest Host but found Corp of Engineers and state campgrounds more economical for us then me buying wine and olive oils. :-) Another great video. Thank you for posting. Safe travels.

Very interesting take! I hadn't thought about that but again, it's totally a personal preference. I just loved the experiences we had at the Harvest Hosts versus a campground, but it might be more economical the other way around!

You are correct in the financial aspect BUT, you don't get that personal experience of these places and the stories from the families that run them, which I feel is a best part of the HH experience. The DW & I stay at as many state & fed parks as we can but we found the HH stops were a great way to experience the local areas that otherwise we would have never even thought of going to.

I am new to present day RVing and now live in western Washington State. We love the Olympic Peninsula but find it very hard to get a decent campsite due to people reserving a week and then not using the entire time leaving empty sites and limited opportunities. This feels like a perfect fit for us and our 24ft Chinook! Thank you for the insight 😊

I'm just getting started in my RV life. Thank u for sharing. Do you have suggestions for beginners? People like me who have not yet purchased an RV but are planning to live on the road....

Another fabulous informational video Crosby. Harvest host should sponsor you to be a Rep. your perfect! Any thoughts on Thousand trails campgrounds? That one seemed very costly. What are their pros and cons?

Should consider another trip staying at Boondockers Welcome (residential side) of HH. Just a thought. I'm a host and an RV'er. Enjoy! Hakuna Matata~! Travel safe.

As a HH host can offer you a year free to BW membership. Had a youtuber do a drone video with music, very cool.

Oh, yes. One more comment. Many hosts allow you to stay another night, so the 'one night' rule is up to the owner/site. :)

At $600/month ($20 suggested support at each host), plus $99/year membership = $7300/year site rental cost. For people on a budget, important to consider the full cost.
@mikesimmons4456 Жыл бұрын
If staying at RV parks as an alternative... 600/mo is super cheap. All just perspective though, and depends on power, water, and sewer requirements, and/or mixing it up with the types of RV'ing. But agree... budget is important.

There is a “boondocking” add on to this membership that has advantages of longer stays/no suggested purchase. I haven’t tried it yet but this may be a difference maker for you.

What seems to be the % of hosts that allow dogs? Thanks!
@RSchannel7772 жыл бұрын
decent but you didn't say anything about genuinely free stays? or did I miss that? be more specific about staying more than a day or two. did you find people were very flexible, did they want to charge additional money? this was good but kind of like an infomercial, pretty general
@CrosbyGraceTravels2 жыл бұрын
All stays are 100% free! The only times I paid extra was for hookups if they offered them. Usually about $5.

I agree about the 24 hour rule - I wish they would get rid of it! I know I would love it so I could explore the towns and patronize the business more
@CrosbyGraceTravels3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I agree
@5FWS52 жыл бұрын
That would completely ruin the entire concept. KOA is just down the road if you want to park your giant rig or bus and set up house for days. HH are small businesses and farms for the most part - NOT RV parks.
@erincafferty53882 жыл бұрын
@@5FWS5 I literally have a 26-foot class C. And I don’t want to go to a KOA. I want to patronize small businesses and think HH extending the rule for 2 or 3 nights (perhaps depending on the host) would actually help their business more.
@5FWS52 жыл бұрын
@@erincafferty5388 You want the convenience of a multi day parking spot so you can explore the area and other businesses and activities. Set up your awning, chairs and other "stuff" and lounge around and chill for a few days. Well thats NOT the concept and everything doesnt have to be the same experience as everything elase. Many of us like veriety and this is a "NOT RV park" experience. Many HH only have 2 or 3 spots and you will take them away from other members traveling in the area while your out sightseeing all day. AND Not everyone wants another RV park experience with a dozen giant RV rigs and busses with generators running and dogs barking and garbage cans and people everywhere. Some people want easy availability of quiet peaceful spots to park while TRAVELING and a nice glass of wine, produce or baked goods or farm experience along the way. These are not destinatoions, they are "stops". I often think that 2 nights might be nice sometimes as you usually spend all day driving and by the time you get in and park etc .... just to get up and leave in the am ......BUT I think it has to be this way or it will be the same as everything else and be ruined. If even 2 days were allowed what would happen? Everybody would book Fri & Sat night months in advance, set up their big campsite and be gone siteseeing all day taking up the spots and nobody would be able to get in. Then what IF the Hosts start liking that extra money? Well they put in a few more spots and and then a few more.... and now its just another RV park. KOA and several RV Parks, State Parks and other options are available in all areas. Thats not HH. Please accept, appreciate it for what it IS and please leave it alone. If you dont like what it IS, please just dont join. HH is not intended to be the overflow parking for overcrowded RV parks - it is intended to be an alternative to them - please dont ruin it. Thanks.

Crosby you need to SLOW DOWN when you speak. We could see your anxiety level near the end of the video go through the roof . Your hand twitching and blinking were of the wall. Learn to BREATHE and just , take speaking at a video as an accomplishment not something like a deadline !
