I'm planning on buying this solely for the fact that it's actually a new game, not some sequel to a series that's been coming out for 20+ years, I'm hoping that enough people buy it and it encourages Capcom to branch out and try new things. Plus it looks fun so a nice bonus lol.

@@michaelschneider1365 Yeah I feel the same CapCom is within my top two companies to make peak games. Weirdly enough Wukong doesn't interest me all that much, it looks good, and I hope that makes tons of money, but I'm weirdly enough not looking forward to it all that much.

I sure will. The asking price is steep though, especially for a new franchise. They could've made it $40 instead of $60 and it would've sold a lot more.

This game is soulfood to me - _this_ is exactly the kind of game that made me fall in love with the medium way back in the day. Weird, experimental experiences made by a team of creatives that feels as though it exists primarily because the team wanted to make it, not to generate profit for a giant, faceless corporation.

Glad to see a new IP and that turned out good from Capcom , like you said in the Sea of Remakes and Sequels . Now we need that Promata game to come out already as well .

I hope Capcom releases a physical version eventually. Preferably with a reversible cover where the other-side is literally a PS2 cover for the game. Games like this rarely get made anymore. Big Dreamcast/PS2/Gamecube/OG XBox era energy.

I love this game. I love games that that have that boots on the ground general feel. People will miss this game because it's not an endless combo fest or a huge world, but it's their loss. Because it's classic Capcom. It has a great set of basic mechanics that it keeps mixing up and add to to keep it interesting.

looks really good and quite different. The only thing that I have reservations is the main character animations/movement. I think they could have made that look a bit better. It looks quite twitchy. Monster animations, movement and character designs look good though. I love the art style in this game. I'll need to try the demo..I see it's available.

I'm curious, on some of your personal opinions on this game, given your history with character action games. Does the simplified combat play a strong, intentional purpose to the overall, holistic game design? Would the game have benefitted greatly from more complex or involved combat? Is the game too easy? What difficulty did you play on? Can you play a NG+ with all your character unlocks? The game _looks_ really cool imo and i want to support it, but I'm a little scared of getting bored with it.

I've checked out the demo because I found the art-style intriguing. Though sadly, despite the solid fusion of genres, the one thing I found lacking was the story and characters. Outside of the priestess, the characters all wear masks and there doesn't seem to be much of a plot other than "beat up monsters". It was kind of a let down to see such a vibrant and unique looking game have little to no personality in other aspects. But I hope the fusion of gameplay styles alone will be enough for people to enjoy themselves.

I don't know man. You shouldn't consider stories that relevant in a video game. Just look at shadow of the colossus. Minimal story and still great
