Constructive criticism : 1. Write jokes yourself and don't take them from twitter. 2. Stop with the generalisations. 3. Take your time. Doing 96 episodes in around 90 days is not only going to strain you but also is going to make the show look low effort. 4. Take criticism to improve

@@yuuri9064 Because of her reaction to criticism on social media. She was way too defensive (when people really wanted to help her, and point out what they didnt like about the show.) I remember watching a video of her calling the 'haters' angry virgins and that is just wrong on so many levels. I understand that the show was pre-taped and it is her first time on TV. I am not saying she should change who she is, but being on TV - especially late night talk show - it comes with so much responsibilities i guess she did not expect. No one really cares about a 1 a.m. late night show like they didn't before, but mainstream media pretty much don't value other content makers as much to give them a chance on TV and I think if one person is advertising oneself as a KZbin content maker they're indirectly representing that lot so they better be good. Maiva La people are allowed to voice their opinions, that’s what happens when you post online. I don’t watch her show, just clips here and there and I believe for the same reason other people who don’t like her show do- because it is very cool that someone like her has a platform like a late night show and we do hope she can do something good with it. Unfortunately she’s just not. And part of why people are feeling so strongly is that she has a HUGE platform being on late night, which is an extremely difficult position to get so there are high expectations for the people who get on it. If it was great, I’m sure no one would have any problems saying so. If you only ever hear people talk positively about something you do, even if it isn’t great; then you’ll live in a bubble of false positivity and never truly improve: again, we are allowed to have and express opinions: I doubt that you live your entire life never expressing your opinions about something you don’t like. For example, i could said “if you didn’t like my comment, then just keep scrolling! You just are begging for my attention by responding!” Right?

Maiva La I don’t think lilly Singh would appreciate you telling audience members to just leave. I see you leaving replies on almost every comment and they’re all just blindly defending her while at the same time preventing opportunity for change and growth. People are vicious on the Internet especially with their comments and it might not be easy especially if you’re someone who has dealt with depression but just enabling her to sweep it all under the rug is equally unhealthy and toxic fan behaviour. You’re like the enabling friend who tells her diabetic child to keep on eating sugar even if it’s bad for her.

Honestly I think y’all are both right but as much as I wanted to just jump in to defend Lilly And as much as a love her Growth is not a bad thing. Criticism is not a bad thing. @uwrongmerightjalbwaddaeng4 жыл бұрын
Hi! Before starting, i just wanna say that i love lilly with all my heart, but im not the kind of fan who would take whatever she throws in my direction blindly and call it a masterpiece. And im sure lilly doesnt want us to act that way either. I can understand lillys point of view about not being able to handle the criticism. Its hard to filter the respectful criticism from the uselessly mean and hateful comments. Which is why you should just stick to a certain number of people. just pick maybe ten sources, Team Super can help you in that, who give proper criticism in a very respectful manner. Ones from which you can learn without being blazed by misplaced hate. Personally, i think i can proudly say that Drew Gooden's video on you is one of the best ive seen. His points are very valid and he says them without screaming in your face. His biggest point was that instead of putting in sketches or jokes that you arent particularly proud of, or you feel like they are repetitive or just dont fit in, instead give more time and attention to your guests. Not just playing games with them, but talking to them. I feel like the most charming part of your show was your interaction with your guests. Giving a couple of more minutes to that can really take up the show by a notch. Everything else that i feel should be said is better said by Drew, so i genuinely do think that you should just watch the video once. I promise he isnt someone who will just use your name to gain fame or something :)

I don’t understand why everyone is salty. She was approved to do a late night show by NBC. To get any TV show there are extensive camera tests and preparation that needs to be done, I do agree that filming 96 episodes in three months is extensive. However, when a show is new and doesn’t have a huge budget… It is very difficult to talk about current topics and stay “relevant”. In regards to the guests she had on the show, these were preplanned in alignment to shows and albums that were coming out at a future date. I’m so elated that Lilly has a season two of her show. Just remember, Parks and Recreation, the office, the Simpsons, & Seinfeld all had poor reviews their first season… Look at them now! Unless y’all are Raven Simone and can see into the future we don’t know the new format of the show and what NBC will do next! I’m proud of everyone’s hard work on the First Season of A little late with Lilly Singh!!

I liked season one but one thing I hope she improves on is her interviewing skills. I watched her interview with 5 Seconds of Summer and it just was awful. She didn’t seem to know anything about them and that seems to be the theme of most of her interviews. If she’s going to interview a person, you need to know facts about the person.

Hi Lilly, I am a Pakistani fan since back when you shot videos behind a green screen. I was very excited to see your show and did so on youtube. I think you did pretty well and also saw you improving throughout the first seasons. Things you improved upon according to me: 1. Your listening abilities 2. Your comfort in front of the camera 3. How you delivered your monologue And a bunch of more things.... Things I think you could potentially improve to make your show even better: 1. Talk about diversity (but dont maybe add it into monologue or jokes that much) 2. I understand as a brown person how we joke about stereotypes and pretty much joke about all awkward things to lighten the mood but in a late night show it seemed a bit odd 3. Monologues (as you even said) 4. If possible, get an audience that is more responsive and energetic (no need to increase their size) 5. More interview time and maybe a little less time with games. And ask some valuable questions about the guests that audience might not know about before 6. Also I'm sure the hateful comments were very hard to deal with and keep yourself positive, but I know you are stronger than that. Please dont pay them that much heed that you have to include it or your response to it on show. Their not worth your show time. Hope I didn't offend you. You are doing well and this video has taught me so much about learning from past and moving forward.

And, as I tuned in every night to watch, I continued to see the growth of you becoming more of a late night television queen every episode. I am so happy for you! I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Season 2. With that being said, I do have to be honest. Throughout this show, I have noticed that so called “haters” have been getting a lot more attention than is needed. From my perspective, if some of the responses to the negative feedback involves “Oh wait you don’t have your own talk show,” I just don’t see what that solves in the long run. Instead, paying more attention to the constructive criticism that is rooted in observations and helpful suggestions can be beneficial for improving both self-awareness and future episodes even further. She's just happy. Of all things to criticize her for, this is not it. Leave her alone.

i've loved lilly since forver-the first brown youtuber i could relate to. however, ever since she got a production team, i felt the link snap. i miss t shirt reference lilly, the one who made 'types of ppl' vids in her bedroom. i wonder if, after all these new things shes got going on, she rlly does feel the connection to her fans. lilly, i support u in everything, and i always will. love, Faiqa xo P.S. [its pronounced f-eye-ka] haha
