Due to heavy rain for days, Hoi An flooded during my trip. It was my first time to experience walking in muddy waters. Some parts of the road were deep, so we ended up riding a boat through the streets. Walking in water is a resistance workout and you're not able to see where you step. Your feet get caught in sunken debris every other block. Regardless, I vlogged it! The flood eventually rose and covered the lobby, dining area and pool. The guests and I were escorted to Danang, one hour north of Hoi An. Watch the action unfold :) Note: Thanks to Nhi Nhi Hotel for getting us to higher grounds!

I'm Vietnamese and I absolutely loved this video. You always think so negatively when it comes to floods but your videos really shows another perspective on it! Something that is not usual for us, it's a typical thing that happens in these people lives and it's great to see how they live through it. Those men chillin' at the cafes was hilarious to watch! And mad respect for you for just going through all that in such a positive manner which made it all the more entertaining to watch. Most people would probably have bitched and cry the whole way through!

this flood is an embarrassment to all floods. where are the dead people? the destroyed buildings? where is the disaster? oh this so disappointing... i would have gone there myself and throw a bucket of gasoline and burn those buildings down, so there could be a proper disaster at least. lol, imagine the irony, an entire building burning during a flood.

As of my mother and father being Vietnamese and having to experience this many times, I now understand how difficult it would be living in such a flooded area. Though this was some time ago, I still will send prayers. Me, my dad, my mother and my brother are now safe. As well as my mother would have to escape Vietnam and go on a boat to where we are now. As my dad it was easier for him since he was so young at the time and didn’t understand much. My family was poor at the time and whenever it would flood, they’d be in trouble, trouble as I mean they had no money and couldn’t buy anything. All they’d eat is rice. Whenever they’d misbehave they’d get a hot rock and put it on their knees. As of now they don’t and usually just yell at me, but my parents behaved and they were super lucky. My parents would sometimes eat banh xeo and usually NOTHING at all. Not many people were rich and Vietnam was a poor country. As now in the present, I’d love to go to Vietnam but knowing not many people there are actually Vietnamese and usually Chinese just breaks my heart to know that Chinese are taking over where my parents used to live. I have not yet to learn Vietnamese but soon I will. Hopefully one day. Thanks for reading this! Have a lovely day/night and I wish for the best. :)

We had a very similar experience, but in Venice, Italy, where it not only flooded but also snowed! You just have to adapt and have fun! I wanted to climb into that shower with you because I had the same thought about not knowing what was in that water!

I love Vietnam 🇻🇳!!! It’s so crazy how different someone’s experience can be in the exact same places. Miss Mina, what time of year were you there? When I went out was so hot and sunny. I saw how they v drew lines on the wall to show how high the water gets every year. I’m glad you were safe and found a way to enjoy it because it really is a beautiful place.

i love Hội An and Đà Nẵng. Everytime I go to Vietnam, have to go to Da Nang and Hoi An for couple days. And 5 years ago, i did experience the typhoon in Da Nang, no electricity for 2 days at the hotel. But i still love the city.
