My HT Holden Brougham in a Demolition Derby at Archerfield Speedway Brisbane in May 1987

This is one of approximately 15 Demolition Derbies I competed in (& won most) at Archerfield Speedway in Brisbane Australia between 1984 & 1994. This Demolition Derby was in May 1987 & yes this is a HT Holden Brougham. I used about 8 different Broughams over the years because they had a boot that was a foot longer. This car had a massive rear hit which shortened it bending the left roof area up like a triangle (it's as bad as it looks). The left rear passenger interior was filled with twisted sheet metal touching the back of the front bench seat. This car ran & drove fine throughout & was the last car running. I vividly remember hearing the huge cheer from the crowd at the very end when I drove off after what turned out to be the final collision. This HT Brougham had a Holden 149 cubic inch 6 cylinder red motor I installed from a HD Holden & a Powerglide Automatic Transmission. I always fitted Automatics in my Derby cars. I reused this exact same motor & transmission about 10 more times until I stopped doing Demolition Derbies in 1994. I still have this 149 motor & Auto trans today in 2022 & it runs fine.
