Niven's Protector is one of my favorites. Great story about protecting those you love by any means necessary.

"What do you do when you don't have enough shelf space? You buy more books". I can relate. Love Neil Gaiman, definitely one of my favourite authors. Looks like a great haul.
@NevsBookChannel9 ай бұрын
Yep, he's a great storyteller. What of his have you read?
@ameliorater15959 ай бұрын
Gosh, a good chunk of them. American Gods and Neverwhere are favourites of mine. I've read his Sandman series, Book of Magic series, Stardust, Anansi Boys, Fragile Things, Coraline, Mirrormask, Smoke and Mirrors, Ocean at the End of the Lane, The Graveyard Book, etc. Neverwhere was the first book of his that I read and fell in love with. I enjoy his writing style and his ability to spin magic from the shadows of mundane lives. Stories that could almost be believed to happen to real people. The only book I have failed to read of his is Good Omens. I have started that book a few times and I can never make it further than a 1/3 of the way in although many people keep telling me how good it is. @@NevsBookChannel

Just discovered this channel, & I love this haul! I love the classic SFF in mass market paperbacks w/ their vintage covers, I can almost smell the old pages.

81 books!!!???! I'm jealous. Not that I don't have at least 81 books waiting on shelves and kindle that I haven't yet read. But we always want more, don't we.

Wow! You're the best TBR-builder out there, no doubt! Thanks again for your video. By the way, Slaughterhouse 5 definitely is NOT SF.

Ah ok. Apparently it's got some sort of time travelly thing? So maybe sci-fi adjacent?

@@NevsBookChannelTrue, and the SF-element is purely instrumental for the telling of the WordWar II story. It's a masterpiece.

what a haul! Malazan stood out to me as its my favorite fantasy series. Just the best. So... are you building up the collection without having read any??? LOL. Or have you read any
@slidenaway8 ай бұрын
oh nice Niven haul too, I read all those late last year, really enjoyed them. Ended with the Fleet of Worlds series, which is 5 books co-authored with Edward M. Lerner. It's its own series but book 5 serves as final book in both that series AND the Ringworld series. Really enjoyed that too so keep an eye out for it!

@@NevsBookChannel haha I had a feeling you were a collector like that, impressive. I’d love to hear your take on Malazan!! I think you’re well read enough in fantasy that it won’t be SUPER confusing - just kinda confusing (as intended lol) And yeah the Niven Known Space stuff is a lot, but he’s so good at the worldbuilding and Big Ideas, they’re a lot of fun
