Hey Nev!! I'm loving the energy in this video! 😊 I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT FREE COMIC BOOK DAY! That's amazing! I can't wait for May 4th next year now, hahaha. I'm a Star Trek fan 🖖🏻🖖🏻 but I'm happy to hear about the Star Wars contribution now 😅. I've already spread the news to some of my friends who are big comic book fans, so thank you! What an accomplishment to read all these books! I've read other books by Bill Bryson (the one about Shakespeare and A Short History of Nearly Everything), and I totally agree with you about his grumpy tone and how his comments are sometimes funny. I'm intrigued by this one, as I was also traveling in England for about six months. I didn't know How to Train Your Dragon was based on a book; it sounds interesting as well. You've completely sold me on Shadow of a Dark Queen-it sounds great. I love your list! I'm writing down your recommendations and looking forward to digging into them. I'm excited about your upcoming video and to see what's on your TBR for the next three months. Thank you for this great video! 📖🦋

I've read the first 3, I would say that for me Fahrenheit 451 gets ranked a bit higher like Phantasies as it's such a touchstone l, just like Brave New World. I've ready 2061 too but couldn't get into it. Haven't managed to get to any Feist or Gemmell, but will consider seeing as you speak highly of then. Hoping to see some WoT on your next TBR :-)

I found Lilith quite a hard read,,At the Back of the North Wind is very Victorian but I enjoyed it. The Princess books are children's stories and much more accessible very much fantasy as we think of it. I found them fun. So I think yes worth reading, there also a few collections of short stories that I enjoyed. I started because I wanted to see what C S Lewis said was a great influence on him

Good news is that almost all of your questions will be answered in future books, although some of them not for a very long time. One of the best things about the book series is how many threads you find in the early books that tie in later. Oh, and yes, pay attention to Perrin's dreams. And you'll find out why on that, too. 😀

Hi! I'm so happy to have found your channel! Your library in the background is beautiful🤩 I enjoyed your review and completely agree with your points! I love looking at the relationship dynamics between adults and children and the representation of children and childhood in children's books. I found it particularly interesting that in the Northern Lights, children's dæmons can change shape at will, which reflects their unsettled nature and potential. And once children grow up, their dæmons are fixed in a permanent shape and can no longer change-quite a view on childhood 😅 Also, the adults in the story want to separate children from their dæmons to suppress their will and to make them more obedient. I found your insights about the time period interesting, and I agree that it doesn't come across clearly. I also agree with you about the story being a bit preachy and pushing an agenda. Interestingly, once you notice this, you start seeing it in many children's books, which really makes you think. Can't wait to see what you think about the sequels. Thank you for this! Your question at the end made me search it on YT, and wow, lol, I was not expecting that at all!!!! 😂😂

I love the Shannara series! Especially the original trilogy and the follow-on Heritage Saga. I haven't read the entire universe of Shannara but I hope to someday. I'm glad to see it on someone's list because it is quite old at this point and doesn't get a lot of love from the Booktube community. But it is an anthology of generational storytelling and it's something I haven't seen in other fantasy a whole lot and I'm sure, after The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings, it is one of the first to do it. It's also easy to read. I would classify it as middle fantasy. Not quite High Fantasy because it borrows a lot from Tolkien's works, especially the very first book but it's one of those series that is not afraid to beat up and kill off the good guys. Great series!

The Puffin edition stretched itself from book 1 to book 59 with books 1 to 7 assuming the star banner design coverart (each book having its unique spine colour). Book 1: The Warlock of the Firetop Mountain Book 2: The Citadel of Chaos Book 3: Forest of Doom Book 4: Starship Traveller Book 5: City of Thieves Book 6: Deathtrap Dungeon Book 7: Island of the Lizard king The zigzag banner replaced the star banner when Book 8 was released. Only lasted from book 37 to book 39, the second Dragon Banner coverart was shortlived. The publishers did away with the number (inside the yellow oval) and the spine number too. Book 37: Portal of Ancient Evil Book 38: Vault of the Vampire Book 39: Fangs of Fury Possibly due to large volumes of complaints, the spine numbers were reinstated when Book 40 was published. Third dragon banner coverart lasted till Book 51. It is the last batch of Dragon Banners that used Gold Foil. Book 40: Dead of Night Book 41: Master of Chaos Book 42: Black Veins Prophecy Book 43: Keep of the Racist Lichlord Book 44: Legends of the Shadow Warriors Book 45: Spectral Stalkers Book 46: Tower of Destruction Book 47: Crimson Tide

I've read all four books in Tad Williams' Memory, Sorrow and Thorn. In the edition I read, books 3 & 4 were tltled parts 1 & 2. They were long books as well, but certainly weren't overlong as they were full of action all the way through. I have books 1 & 2 of the Empire trilogy, but I've been looking for book 3 for a few years without success. Ancillary Justice is near the top of my TBR, but I suspect you'll read it before I do.
