I'm so excited that it's finally Thriftmas again - i'll be spending this entire month thrifting new items, clearing out & donating old ones, working on thrift flip content (like thrifted furniture makeovers), a thrifted style challenge, a thrifted kitchen makeover and so much more!
Come back daily in the month of December to see all my thrift content! In todays episode, i'm cleaning out my closet and selling my clothes on Depop! My INSANE dress collection has over 100 dresses in it, but after todays episode, i'm donating/selling (for charity) over half of them! RE: Strawberry dress, you could go to a tailor and get a zip to fix it up. I'm making my strawberry dress and the itchy is mostly solved by placing fabric over the tulle seams. A tailor might be able to do that as well!

@@emunebula2975 It's honestly one of the more difficult and time consuming projects I've taken on, it's easier if you have a gathering foot but still very fidily, the top is the hardest part the skirt has been relatively painless so far. You could make a shirt version, but it depends on the design overall I think.

Funny. Garment technician here. Also I used to work in a fabric store. Every single fabric you held closer to the camera I exactly knew what they'd feel like. I wish I would live closer to Alex, I really would love to teach her more about fabrics. It's such an interesting topic and there is so much to learn. And once you've understood what materials are being used and what their properties are, it gets so easy to just look closely at a fabric without even touching it and still know what it's made of. Or when you look at a fabric online you know from the materials and the picture what it will feel like, how sheer or heavy it is, if it will keep it's shape or how long the prints, the glitter and other things will last. So much with one glance. You learn to tell a well made textile from a .... less well made one. But there is a serious downside to this: The knowledge can have quite expensive consequences...

I like wearing "unacceptable" things according to what society thinks I should be wearing at my age. I reject the notion that I can not wear something because of my age, height or body type. The same with colors I am told I shouldn't wear because of my skin tone or that I shouldn't wear gold or silver because of my skin tone or that I shouldn't cut my hair short or that I shouldn't color my hair that color because of my age or whatever it is ..honestly I realized after years of whatever age and demographic I was at any given time society was going to have some commentary about it and through the decades looking back when I went against my joy and what I liked to wear it was when I was the most uncomfortable and didn't enjoy it. There are a lot of places where you may have to wear something you don't like ( school, work, etc) because there is a dress codes or dress requirements so if you like what you are wearing, if you like your personal style go for it and remember age, body type etc has nothing to do with it!

I second (third? fourth?) Selkie haul with Kaitlyn please! They have the same Ritz dress in a dark floral and a couple of blues- I ended up using the baby blue toile version as my wedding dress! As best I can tell, they also have midi (monte marte) and mini (parliament) cuts that appear to have the same bodice as the ritz. Extra story time side note: Before I settled on the blue, I ordered the exact same color of ritz that you bought, and I ran into the exact same size issue that you did. If you (or anyone reading this) between sizes like I was, you should absolutely 100% size down. I went for the bigger size thinking that I could get it tailored and was absolutely swimming in it. Also also, because you definitely did not ask, in case I miss a call for suggestions: get the boleyn set (top and skirt, they have a black and cream version) for the theoretical video. I got the black set with my store credit refund from the too-big ritz, and it's seriously the coolest thing I own.

So happy your doing thriftmas again this year Alex! your last year's thriftmas series really help me get through the month as this time last year was one of the toughest times of my life. My mother was hospitalised and they did not discharged her till just before Christmas. Knowing there's a new thriftmas video everyday help me get through most of December as it help me count down the days till my Mum came home .
