My hunt for a shiny female Combee… without Cute Charm.

Hope the video was slightly entertaining, spent a lot of time on both the hunt and the editing. In total I ended up finding 1 Hoothoot, 1 Pineco, 3 Slakoths, 18 male Combees and 1 female Combee within 211,735 encounters. 100% worth it :)

I remember trying to SOS chain a shiny female Salandit in Moon before I knew about cute charm. I got 7 males before I was made aware. I can't imagine 18 at full odds jeez nice job. One of these days, I might be insane enough to do some of the hunts you do. Very well made and edited video as well

Hey Olig, I know this is an older video but I have a question about cute charm. You said the glitch can activate a 1/5 chance for a shiny or drop it to 1/24000… is there no in between? Like maybe is there a trainer ID and secret ID combo that causes neither of these to be in effect? I’m wondering because I’m planning on hunting using cute charm but I know I don’t have the glitch for increased odds. Is it a lost cause to have cute charm in the front of the party because it’ll be the 1/24000 odds? Is there a way to check if you have the 1/24000 odds or something different?

As far as I’m aware, there’s no in between. You’ll end up making your hunt significantly worse using cute charm in Gen 4.
