I remember Harvey! I followed it on the radar. It stalled out when it hit land. I started looking for videos of Harvey and I found Lester’s channel. The final blow was when some sort of levee breached upstream. Paw Paw didn’t want to leave & they came back to get him in a boat. After returning back home everyone seemed in shock and had no plan of action. They do now! Paw Paw has a story of how he got Billy the bull back. Ben, I love your channel! I’m so glad you you are there to help Paw Paw & GiGi. You are incredible! ❤

Ben, I am so sorry you had to go through such a traumatic event at such an impressionable stage of your life. I know you love GiGi and PawPaw so very much. I am sure that you have to be triggered every time we have flooding in the area. After going through a flood that kept me out of my house for a year, for a few years afterward, I would stay up all night wondering if it was going to happen again. I'm looking forward to part 2

My husband works for Kroger and he and several of his co-workers came to Houston from Georgia to help get the affected stores back up and running. So glad all the people on Morrow Hill were spared! I watch all the channels on and off the hill daily! Thanks for always helping Gigi and Pawpaw! ❤

August 30, 2004, we had Gusto coming through Virginia... Our front yard is 5 ft - 6 ft lower than our backyard...the creek running through the front yard couldn't handle all that surf . It was very , very scary ... there was water underneath the house, plenty of it... Thank God it never got into the house ,and yes, 20 years later, I remember it all as it was ... to that time, we were much younger and right away took care of things... if it would be happening now, there is no way to do things our own , health wise is just not possible... I am so glad that PawPaw and GiGi have you and the rest of the family to look out for them... Bless your heart ❤️ Ben !!!

Here in NC...we had major flooding from hurricanes also. September 1999 Hurricane Floyd and 2018 with Hurricane Florence. It certainly gives you PTSD. Hugs! Looking forward to the second part of your video.

I watched part one and two, I could feel your anxiety as you were remembering the boat ride out of Plum Grove. PTSD for sure. I could feel your anxiety lift as you were remembering that glimpse of sunlight. What a great retelling of a traumatic event in your young life. Thank you for sharing.

I remember Harvey because our Corporate Office collected all our canoes and kayaks to send to the Houston area. Then later we did fund and item donations.

You struggled because it’s still unhealed Ben. That was a nightmare for you all and you were only 14. Need to give yourself the grace of that fact, hun. 💗

I think the whole family struggles with ptsd because of that trauma. Thanks Ben for sharing this. In oregon we don't have any trauma from weather. Mt St Helen's that blew in May 1980 was bad but I had to deal with massive ash in yard In Tillamook which was along ways

I thought your family lived ( pasture Bree now has her horses) on the hill durning Harvey. But after be flood choose not to rebuild but moved off the hill. So since that is not the story when did y’all move away from Morrow Hill? Was your parents house empty and then destroyed? Why I am asking cause I feel like I have heard so many stories about the flood from family and I thought Paw paw showed where they buried your parents house? So confused now?

Yes me too, Lester was the one I heard tell the story of how they buried the house and his also. If I remember correctly he said FEMA did the clean up. Sad times for them all, I'm sorry Ben that you had to go through that.

Did Lester have time to get the animals out when he left because at that time it was 48 hours. The thought of the animals drowning really bothers me. You guys all should stage a big one with the animals please
