I agree - sometimes we say things like “I’m an intotrovert” and that can become our story that we tell ourselves over and over again thus making it more challenging to break out of the habits that might be preventing growth.

Love this My husbands primarily introvert and me an extrovert. We sometimes struggle respecting those differences but have improved in time!

It’s nice that you mention about an introvert needing time to recharge from being around people. A big misconception is that introverts *don’t* like being around others. We do. It really is just that interacting with people consumes a lot of energy. I try to think of it as a workout: i like to do it, it benefits my health, but it requires a lot of energy. I can do it for a while and feel good while on it, but i know i need to let my body recover before i go for it again. And as an introvert, i try to think as extroverts kind of like batteries: they need to be moving to recharge. They consume a lot of energy when are just standing still. This helped me a lot in understanding my husband. Also in the “am i enough?” question. At first, this would come to my mind a lot (that i am not enough), but when i understood that a little movement will recharge a little bit of his batteries, but what he really needs is much more movement, i turned around from my self-deprecating thought. Just like i wouldn’t be able to last long only taking 10 seconds breaks during exercise, a little movement isn’t enough to keep his mental health up to date. And as you guys said, God knows what we need. He won’t let us go through something we couldn’t bare. Thank you for this video :)

Another great video! I like that you went over the importance of yielding our natural personality over to God. We live in a time where society tells us constantly, “Find YOUrself...Know what YOU need...Do what YOU want...Make choices that will make YOU happy.” Buying into this line of thinking is attractive at first because it provides immediate gratification when lived out, but it leaves no room for relationships to grow. It’s a selfish and shallow way to live life. While I do think it’s important for each of us to be aware of our unique God-given personality, we have to remember that He is the one who designed us and gave us our personality, and He wants us to use it for Him. We are are not our own; we were bought with a price (I Corinthians 6:20). We are called to live for Him and to love and serve others, and (as you pointed out) sometimes that means sacrificing our own desires/needs as an introvert or extrovert. It’s a sacrifice of love for our spouse, and it’s well worth it :)

Awesome video and an extremely awesome channel. I really appreciate how the word of God is the substance of all your messages and not just your opinions. This channel has really opened my eyes on Godly marriage. Thank God for you guys!!!

This was such a good message to receive this morning because I can identify with it so clearly. I too am like Jennifer. I need downtime. The problem is I do try to claim it too much. Some days I choose to stay in my shell the entire day, disappearing into the computer or a great book for hours on end. I appreciate this message reminding me not to use my "introvert" status as a crutch. That said, I do tend to have more extrovert tendencies than my husband. He too is an introvert, but I think it is harder for him to come out of his shell. I would be the one to invite people over, not him. Though it's not my favorite thing, I do recognize it is important to fellowship with others and grow friendships and other relationships. And whenever we do, I always enjoy it. My husband is at work but I am really looking forward to him watching this video so that we can discuss it together. Thank you!

This is so helpful. It’s not easy to communicate in relationship with opposite traits. It’s encouraging to hear and see that relationship like that can still work

Thank you for this video. I'm an introvert and my Fiancée is an extrovert, I pray that my negative over thinking will disappear because when he seems to be having fun with me being in my space, I always think he is cheating. I also feel that I was a weird partner because I don't know anyone that's like me and dating an extrovert. I am grateful that I have this opportunity to be able to see that I'm not alone, and that there is still some hope in my relationship. Thank you.

Exactly !I would always be suspicious of cheating or they don’t love me and I’m always in my head .😔

My husband and I actually are both introverts. We both get re energized being alone, and home, and are exhausted around people. I guess when it comes to our relationship I’m the one with more extrovert tendencies though, since I am the one to say what I’m feeling/thinking, and he tends to keep that more to himself. But we definitely struggle with community since we are both introverts overall! But God has been using these podcasts to encourage us to reach out to community more & open up instead of being in our own bubble.

Have y'all read the book "The Temperament God Gave You"?! I read it a few years ago and really enjoyed the deeper insight it gave to spirituality and relationships with others - even kids!

I really hope you two check that book out. I think you'll find it most interesting. My husband and I have taught other married couples about temperaments. So helpful in married life. God bless you. Thank you for your video. Very inspiring. Another great book is called The 4 Temperaments by Rev. Conrad Hock. Free online.

I am engaged to an introvert and I'm saddened inside bcuz my needs aren't being met. I like touch, words of affirmation and quality time and keep inside my sadness when I want to be close or want a hug/kiss because I'm afraid of the rejection which hurts more. I pray on it daily and try not to take things personal as I fear what the future will be with a woman Im in love with who is introverted and thinks my "love language" and needs are smothering. I feel like a burden which internally hurts during this walk *sigh*

How do extroverts bounce back do quickly after going through a traumatizing experience. They're so bubbly. They tend to suppress their feelings? Why?

What’s the personality type called where you have been an extrovert your entire life, but then you had kids.... and now you’re a whole lot of introvert, but mainly just exhausted... but still lonely, and stir crazy, all at once!! How does this person “rest”?? Lol!

‼️?!? @ 10:46 “…we want to be biblical people…” ?!?‼️ People who believe in myths of an “ *INVISIBLE SKY DAD WITH MAGICAL POWERS WHO CONTROLS THE UNIVERSE* ” need a serious lesson in evidence based knowledge.
