I may have an unpopular opinion, but I’d rather pay off my debt at a slower rate than miss out on my child’s life. You can’t get that time back. You don’t want to look back on that time and be full of regret.

You’re right. He’s working 18 out of 24 hours a day. He’s not even getting a chance to be a father to his children. But mom gets to be there and children “NEVER” remember the time they didn’t get with one of their parents. They both need to find another way to work this. Him not being a father to his children isn’t okay. Her being away if getting a second job is not okay. They are in a bad situation for their entire family right now.

Our country has been in bad shape for a long time when we don't have Dad's involved in raising & supporting children. I respect single Mom's or Dad's that can raise children on their own. That isn't how God planned things but unfortunately it is too common. My husband & I struggled to raise our children with both of us working when we could. Daycare was also an issue then. He needs a wise brother in Christ or father to speak wisdom into him before he really damages his marriage. A woman marries a man ,, one of her biggest concerns should be, will he provide for the family? And now the man saying go work two jobs... Like Dave said, their are so many problems that come with that, one of them that wasn't mentioned is, someone else raising your kids. The guy needs to find work where he can make more and work less..because working that much and having sleep debt only getting 4-5 hours sleep every night will literally kill you or cause serious long term health issues. The money for what we have is already mismanaged, and the efforts to care for homeless by shoving them in hotels (which destroys them) without dealing with the drug addictions and mental illness needs to be addressed first. Kind of like when you make a budget and feel a little richer. If stuff was managed properly and efforts addressed *root* causes, not mere symptoms, it'd look a lot better even with the resources available now. Throw in some common sense and America's current social safety net would look better.
