Sounds like he got redpilled too. He thought he could kick her down reputationally and she'd be a properly docile little victim and thought he was such a catch, that she was so old she'd take him back no matter what he did or said to her so as to avoid the possibility of becoming the dreaded cat lady (gasp /s). I bet she finds someone fantastic in a year or two and the he ends up alone and bitter.
