I think Key is entering the senior phase of his life, more rest needed, taking longer to do things then before. The changes in his face and body even from 1-2 yrs ago is becoming noticeable. Even still, how cute is he and how entertaining, as always, the three of you?! He is such a joy for so many.

Surprisingly as one ages, they need less sleep as they have no further growth. Ironic then that the ones who get away with partying the night away, ( teens and mid 20's), need the most sleep for cell damage and repair, requiring all of that energy especially in the long bones for marrow, (progenitor and blood cell growth happens there. Of course that's with hoomans! On the other hand, our knowledge of neuroscience and the mapping out the nerves from brain and spine and where they end up, was through the study of dogs. Sorry- Queen of useless facts speaking although I will let myself out...unlike Key!

Which would include I guess what I call, "12 year old prepubertal boy sniggering toilet humour!" I really am a nerdum 🤓. Need to get a life/ get out more LOL.

@ferret A lot of the time it depends on the sleep cycle changes and hormonal "dumps", from the brain that cascade down to other glands, like thyroid or adrenals. But also a lot to do with something called sleep apnoea. Weight gain such as "middle age spread" or large tonsils, sinus congestion, or anything causing even partial blockage in the throat/ respiratory system means less oxygen getting around. The body reacts almost immediately by waking and sitting up for a few normal breaths and then the person falls asleep again and it's completely forgotten; but the break(s) catch up with you eventually and you don't get that complete body repair sleep so wake unrefreshed and so on it goes! A big clue is snoring. It's a major cause for kids who's tonsils are always swollen from infection/inflammation or sinus congestion in the hollow parts of the skull. Sleeping with the upper body at an angle (using pillows or hospital bed type gadgets- something like you get in a recliner chair), helps because of less gravity pulling one down. Yes, I studied human biology and used to work in science/ health and social care services so...again apologies for the nerdism. On here. I quite like it otherwise.

I get a similar reaction from my pug. She'll get me out of bed, I feed her breakfast, then she goes back to sleep. For the next few hours, I will ask if she needs to go outside, but she just stares at me in a similar way that K'ey does in this video. Most of the time, she'll not even entertain the idea of outside until after lunch.😂

I swear I have had exactly the same conversation with my husky Lucy. Also had the same argument with her screaming no at me. Having a husky is like having a permanently stubborn toddler.
