Hi Levi's mom, I'm from iran and i wanted to truly thank you for stepping up and giving him a safe and forever home. There are a lot of people who truly adore and support animals in Iran in however they possibly can, but like any other place in the world there are abusive and just cruel persons too who are incapable of loving and sheltering an animal. I, myself, am a cat-person and own two cats but just someday out of nowhere i saw a short reel of levi and immediately fell in love with him, and i was so surprised to find out that he was originally rescued from here in Iran. Despite the tragic story of his past life, I'm so grateful he's living his best life alongside of you.
@MoonchildDontCryАй бұрын
Yeah people who are awful and cruel to animals exist everywhere. But in Iran they seem to be the majority? Why is that the case?
@naghmeh9899Ай бұрын
@@MoonchildDontCry i think because of some false religious beliefs.. Most people who are still cruel and ruthless towards animals are from the older generations of country.. Fortunately, younger generations are taught to be kind with animals

@@LeviTheHuskyRescue my sister has a rescue. She's built like a tank, and she has the most beautiful nature. She and her sister, and their litter mates, were seized from some guy who had been breeding dogs for fighting. All of their litter mates had had most of their teeth and claws removed, but they caught the guy before he could do damage to our girl and her sister. Their litter mates had to be euthanised. As a result of her trauma, our girl was really skittish around people she didn't know, and would hide behind one of her humans if there was another dog in her vicinity. She adores cats, we have six and a half (neighbours cat), but only one adores her. The rest of them are scared of her because she's massive lol. She has really come out of her she'll. It was like a lightbulb going off when she realised she was safe, and didn't need to be scared anymore. It's a fantastic feeling for us, when you know that an abused animal has absolute trusting you, not to hurt them. It makes me cry just to think about what she went through.

I have volunteered with a dog rescue for years. Just in my one small area, there are so many dogs who have been treated so terribly, and just need to be loved. They'll stay with us for a month or even a year, before our people find a forever home for them. It's my great joy that I'm there to love them in the meantime, because they love me too. I've never had so many close friends, or been so appreciated, as I feel with those dogs. But I rarely get to hear about what happens to them when they reach their forever homes. Other people handle that. It's so wonderful hearing your story, seeing your love for him. It's not just that we rescue the dog. They also rescue us.

My Wife and I both follow and laugh at your Levi videos. You are a beautiful soul for taking in a dog from that far away with NO background information and minimal preparation. Levi has definitely won his lottery. I swear dogs that have gone through Rescue/Foster/Adoption KNOW that they have made it. I have two Rescues and have had a total of 3 so far. They have ALL been sweet loving dogs that just want a place to sleep and someone to love them and feed them. That's it. Simple needs, and all they give back in return is love (and anxiety in some cases, but the Love helps tamp that down!) PS - Your BF didn't deserve you anyway!

I had moved to the mountains of Idaho where the Labrador should be the "State Dog". A friend of my ex-Gf's told her about seeing someone throw a puppy out of the passenger window of a pickup truck driving down the road. The puppy was a 8 wk. old Lab mix. The next thing I knew, she was shipping the puppy to me via air freight. I take her everywhere & let her run around the mountain when we get home. My only complaint is she will hunt for elk poop on her run so that she can roll in it.

Looks like you traded a BAD boyfriend for a GREAT dog. First of, his reasons for not getting a dog were the same as anyone making excuses for not getting a pet because the fact is they're too self centered for caring for an animal, or even someone. But throwing YOU out of his place over a rescue dog you wanted to help is some seriously god-damned COLD *ss thing to do to someone who's done nothing wrong and to a helpless animal. There's no way in hell you would have been happy with such a cold hearted person. Levi has helped you dodge a bullet with that one by coming into your life. Wait, are we bad mouthing the old boyfriend for not wanting a dog? That's not really fair. Some people don't want a dog or don't want to handle the responsibility that comes with having a dog. It does change things about your life. It's not selfish and it's not cold hearted. If anything, it's good on him to know that he didn't want the responsibilities and lifestyle changes a dog brings instead of just caving to her demand and resenting the two of them. I don't really blame him for ending the relationship over it, if that's what really happened (she didn't go into it, but I guess we can assume that's the reason). She trampled all over his boundary of not getting a dog because he knew (rightfully so) that she would fall in love with the dog and want to keep it, which he didn't want. In the end, they were just incompatible on that. It would have been better if that was thoroughly discussed and they came to the conclusion to end things earlier so she had time to have a new place ready to go when Levi came, but things happen the way they do sometimes.
