I just tuned my 3.7 on the street with EcuTek... My tuner had me using 3rd to do the pulls. I wonder what's the difference if any....

when you do pulls in a higher gear, the engine revs climb more slowly, this allows the software to collect more data points between revs and the tuner can use it to make more precise adjustments. Feel free to send me some logs for a consultation, I've very education focused and I will help you interpret the data to make sure your tune is doing what it's supposed to
