When the stepmom first spoke I took her as genuine. However when she gets upset and has the father to back her up, she got nasty. She started snapping back devaluing what the son was expressing. The son started getting flustered and had difficulty trying to get his thoughts together. Nobody corrected her, including her husband. I can see how that would make the son feel tag teamed. She needs to work on that. That’s not ok and it’s probably much worse away from the cameras.

Honestly, I think it was his father responsibility and as head of household to correct his wife's behavior towards his son. The real issue is the son needing love from his father (hence son feeling of rejection), but the father cowardly allows his wife to mishandle.

Agreed (except for that 'head of household' rubbish of yesteryears). When one or both parents bring children from other relationships with them, they must make sure that those children do not feel left out, discriminated against or not respected by everyone else. Blended families can work but both adults need to consciously see that all family members feel included and respected.

My dad was married to his 2nd wife for 8 years, and the entire time, she was horrible to my sister and I behind the scenes. Because we were kids, we didn't feel like it was our place to say anything, and I completely understand where he is coming from.

He always took me somewhere to jus say he did to her to make her believed we bonded the whole time we were out he never talked to me or even tried to bond with me. All the shit he did was to get close to my mom to make her believe he cared about her child as soon as he got her where he wanted he started trying to isolate her from not only me but friends and family which is a sign of emotional abuse.

This comment sounds like an abusive man trying to stop his woman from leaving him. Children KNOW their parents are imperfect. They just don't like why parents behave as if they know everything when their actions consistently prove otherwise. Parents need to stop ego tripping and actually learn empathy, wisdom, patience, and enthusiasm. Parenting is not a one hour per day or a few hours weekend job of just barking orders.

Karamo handled this well by listening to both sides and then removing the blame factor. His parents did a good job and clearly care about him. Both he and his dad felt rejected and dealt with it differently. The key here is that both want to move forwards and the petty stuff needs to be put behind. They need to start communicating more and stop being reactive. When angry it’s best to step aside as things we say or do may not be nice. They all made mistakes they regretted. They have apologised. Now it’s time to move on one day at a time.

Sexuality is a spectrum and it wouldn’t shock me if this father’s falls somewhere near the middle. He could be bi, bicurious, dl and struggling with his own sexuality. Who knows, maybe that’s the root issue that causes friction between them. When people are insecure in their sexuality they ironically target/discriminate against those who are. So if he is struggling while his child is openly gay that could be apart of himself he doesn’t like, that he sees in his son that’s triggering negative reactions towards him. And if he’s going hard to push the “wholesome Christian” image, that’s even more of an indicator. We’ve all seen that within the church. It’s no secret. Toxic is toxic regardless of blood. Family & friends can be toxic. So if not speaking to & denying those toxic people access to you is going to allow you peace then so be it. I hope the son finds healing.

What heterosexual people don’t understand when a gay child goes out in the public and have to endure rejection and being treated like they are less of a human being. The child needs to know that they have complete 100% support by their parents even though deep down inside the parents don’t agree with that lifestyle the gay child knows that’s how they really feel so we escape people have to have a tough skin to just love people and create our own circle around us even though it means to cut off the family as you get older. And there’s always another gay person. That’s looking at you in your family and they are denying their sexuality. His dad looks a little soft to me I’m just saying.

I feel for this man so much. I relate bc my family does this to me as well. Praying for his healing and deliverance from their unclean spirits and hearts.

Coming into this young man life at 2 years old! He should’ve been accepted and welcome by the step mother! You basically raised him! As for the dad you’re sitting there defending your wife because ‘you’re married’ but you’re not just a husband, you are a father! I hate his words was lost in translation but I feel as he grow and mature he would be able to voice exactly how he feels without getting derailed.
