I'm starting inktober for the first time this year, my real commitment is to upload daily videos of the inking process on my channel, as I normally find the time to draw everyday almost all the year around!! I Haven't picked all of my materials yet, though ...

Mary INKunst ooh good luck! I failed miserably trying to upload daily but I admire those who can!

I had this gold ink for over a year now and it's still working fine. Plus it's the most beautiful gold I've ever seen. It almost looks like gold leaf in a bottle, much more opaque and well... gold... than any acrylic, gouache, gel pen or watercolor I've seen! I like to shake it very well and then use a dropper to pull a small amount of the ink to paint with. I found that to be the easiest way to work with it, because it settles so fast and it's easier to mix that tiny amount than dig inside the bottle. Good luck with Inktober!

This is the first time I'll be participating and I'm super excited. Got myself some Daler-Rowney acrylic inks for the challege, also, going to be using the pentel brush pen and some gel pens (gold, silver, white) for details. Is going to be fun seeing what other artists come up with.

Pearberrie I haven't used acrylic inks before. As soon I got home from my local art store I tried them by just dipping in a brush. I think I'm going to like working with inks. One is a shimmery purple and the other one a magenta. (I would like to add a splash of color here and there). Good luck to you too

Yes I'm very much looking forward to starting inktober as well :) I will be using ink in a fountain pen and apply ink through washes with a brush. I want to keep it simple but with a distinct line.

That's a really cute ink setup, I like the idea of rebottling inks into something that looks nicer, I usually just leave mine in the box, lol. I have a ton of nibs that I never really use, but I already know I'm gonna focus on ink painting for this year, I just really love doing it. Might have to revisit my nibs in the future though. Looking forward to seeing your Inktober stuff!

Pearberrie My favorite is Leonardt steno 40 nib aka. Blue pumpkin :D it's meant for copperplate calligraphy, but works really well for drawing too.

These are such awesome supplies you'll be using and I'm super excited to see what you'll create for Inktober this year! 😀 I hope to get a few drawings for it, maybe not everyday cause damn, that is tough. XD I'm going to be using my trusty ball point pen again, it'll be fun! I find that inks do get thick over time. I had one that I hung onto for nearly 6 years, it didn't dry up, but became as thick as putty.

this is gonna be my first inktober, im planning out the sketches already to save time with me still being a student. Im just going to be using some multiliners and inkwash and possibly some watercolor for color

I couldn't get my hands on the silver and gold drawing inks from winsor and newton so I got the calligraphy ones and they aren't really opaque :/ I love the pentel aquabrushes filled with ink that's like a homemade brushpen :) Good luck with the Inktober! :)

SimaIsDrawing thank you aww that’s too bad about the ink :( the w&n ones are opaque but they need to be shaken up so often to keep it opaque that it got very frustrating so I stopped using them. I’m taking every other dip :( The finetec watercolors are so much easier to use. On the good side sometimes a light shimmer of gold or silver is really nice :) or can the calligraphy one build up?

Having had mine do it, inks dry out. So I guess that would bad....sorry, I don't mean to sound sarcastic. To answer your pinned question, I do plan to join Inktober this year and not to be intimidated by so many phenomenal artists. I plan to be committed to the entire month. We'll see how it goes.

TheKnight LunarWolf ooh how exciting good luck! I would say use the hashtags when posting both #inktober and #inktober2017 and have fun with it don’t let yourself feel too pressured to make something amazing just have fun and do what you can! Also I found setting a time each day to sit down and get it done helps me to actually do it. Some artists also set time limits on how long they will spend on it but that’s individual wither it would help or not and when it feels like a drag it helps to see other artists also trying their best and leave encouraging comments that always fuels me somehow :D good luck 💕

This is my first time watching your videos and I almost screamed when u said u are in Singapore! My mom is from there and I love that country. Even though I went when I was little.
