I think your patients are fortunate to have a clinician who actually seems to care.

The biggest problem with most that I try to encourage to eat right and exercise is that they just don't want to. Even those heading into kidney failure don't want to give up thier ultra processed snacks. Why have quality of life when you can spend the next ten years dying a slow death enjoying your snacks while running from one specialist to another. Thank you for all your very good guidance to healthy living.

My PC thinks similarly to how you think on these issues. Many of his patients (it's a smaller town, you hear the stories at the hair salon, coffee shop) leave him because he WON'T just start with big meds (unless absolutely necessary). They don't want to hear that they need to change anything (which I get, lol, we get habits because we like them, good or bad). I find this channel and your approach very helpful and encouraging. THANK YOU.

When my wife was pregnant she had a doctor prescribe her to eat a steak every day. After a while neither of us could bear to look at steak anymore. 😢

Eating even Ribeye gets boring, that's why you need dipping sauces and glazes. 😋

My blood pressure was as high as 180 over 120, and due to atherosclerosis I was prescribed blood pressure medication alongside other medication for my fitted heart stent. But since my blood pressure is now under control I feel a whole lot better. There were times I had the feeling of impending doom because my blood pressure was so high. That has now gone away and oh what a relief it is. When I come off the blood thinners I will let my cardiologist know I want to gradually be taken off the other medication. Time will tell if it that approach will be successful or not.

Had a wonderful adjustment at my Chiropracter's yesterday. Truly helps keep my blood pressure in check. I've lived a vegan life for nearly 2 decades. I had to give up the too easy to find vegan desserts so full of sugar. Thank you, Dr Story. I manage stress with qi gong, yoga, meditation, walking, biking, rebounding. ❤ 😊

It's the right thing to do to earn your health as a byproduct of your efforts. Cheating is just that, cheating. I'm 61 and while I don't buy the bp 120/80 one size fits all, I'm low 130s over low 80s without meds. I exercise a lot. Everyone doesn't have to be 165 in weight, why blood pressure with only 1 acceptable number. God bless you.

Lot of doctors want "Results" - but in the medical field, "results" can have side effects. Giving drugs can get better symptom results. The more honorable goal is better "health".

Yes, numbers can be manipulated. Diet, exercise and healthy mental well-being. I feel your pain in that you want to help more of your clients. I find it hard to believe that people in Southern Cali don't want to or have excuses to exercise?

There are new guidlines going into place for 2025 concerning HOW blood pressure is measured in different age groups. This may change what our results are and show a truer picture of what our blood pressure really is.

Maybe age over 80 should be different. ? I do no meds. Only organic/ biodynamic foods. 5’4 115 lbs. Irish ☘️ heritage…spirituality key! Oh yes I must do more walking & yoga. Maybe I’m not getting enough sleep? Not an “AI believer striving for that kind of thing. No soul in that!
