Ah, glockenspiel, marimba and cello - the classic pop song line-up! Love it, Samuel! I'm afraid your more art-ish output is a bit beyond me, but no matter, I love your attitude! Will definitely check out the other pop songs.

This is amazing, Samuel. The fact that you had the gumption to attempt this at such a young age and not only see it through, but succeed admirably, is something that must be respected. We will definitely be following you on Bandcamp and hope the rest of your music from this period resurfaces. By the way, have you considered doing an analysis video on the music of Basil Kirchin?

I'm glad that you decided to release this music for easier access, it can be hard to expose one's early works. I read about some artists like Hovhaness who were so dissatisfied with years of youthful work that they just throw everything into the fire which seems so tragic. As you've said, if nothing else, this music is important to your personal development, but I've really enjoyed what I've heard so far, so thanks for sharing!

My reaction at the end was a happy chuckle. I didn't fully assimilate the music in the first listening but there is much to entice me to hear it more and more. And yes there is the underlying feeling of a pop song here. As with the music, I need to hear the lyrics more too. I have never grokked a fine piece of music in one hearing.

Yeah, that rhythmic gesture was a lil funky, but it started growing on me!! You oughta realize these pieces in your adult form, that’d be so cool! I remember Jack White, incredible guitarist/recording wizard of everything analog, wrote an album called Lazaretto based on tons and tons of old doodles, and it was the coolest rock album I’ve heard in ages!! He said it was akin to co-collaborating with a more compositionally audacious friend, and a fairly hard headed one at that, from what I remember from the streamed interview at least (don’t quote me on that last bit exactly, but he DID love doing it at least, and that part is 100% verifiable!)

I'd like to say that your album "Music with no edges" has a lot of replay value. I had no understanding much of what went on in it at the age I first gave it a listen. That George Anthiel sheet music on your stand connects you, not only with his great music but also with that great actress and inventor, Hedy Lamar. In the dark days of WWII, George and Heddi co-invented a torpedo guidance system (embodied by parts of George’s player pianos). The mathematical ideas inspired by their invention grew into the foundation of our modern digital telecommunications and Internet over which we enjoy your videos and music. Will you say more about George’s music and his many musical artistic connections?

Like it. It has a 'C' centre which the section A2 seems to clarify. And the strange subdominant ending. Unusual and Zappa-like, but not. More Bach-like - but not - and idiomatic. But, also, Moondog on acid comes to mind.

The Popular songs 92 people have heard... Sounds Good though! Sort of a pretty Harry Partch type composition... Almost sad enough for to make the ladies cry... Watch a soap opera an then write a sad song, FOR THE LADIES!!! (prime market for popular songs...) Correct Spelling: Pop $ong$ because a popular song MAKES MONEY, and becomes POPULAR! Just get the ladies to buy your product, and it will become POPULAR! I know it's crass, but it's reality! It's called CULTURE. IMHO
