@DulcimeristАй бұрын
Ohtani made the Dodgers an extra $120M in sponsorships in 2024, after they immediately picked two dozen Japanese corporate sponsorships. The Japanese television market also has to work through Spectrum SportsNet LA, which is 50% owned by Dodgers ownership, so Ohtani is bringing that extra revenue as well. Soto doesn't bring that kind of revenue in.

The Orioles could've had a good season without resigning Burnes (who didn't want to be here regardless) but they chose not to. The Orioles need pitching blah, blah, blah but that lineup still has a lot of issues. The most recent playoff sweep showed how bad the lineup could be. That was a microcosm of the second half. Burnes was lights out in that game and they did nothing. Why would he want to come back to that and to a city he didn't want to be in? Anyone looking at things realistically and unbiased would realize that he wasn't coming back. Last year's trade deadline proved that they are not committed to doing what's necessary.
