Hey guys! I had to repost this video with some privacy edits so you may have seen this one! If not, hopefully you enjoy it and stay tuned for the next video! Working on vlog #7 for tomorrow and plan on sharing a roll from no gi class and gi class. Thanks!

The second submission was not a head-and-arm choke but a cuff Ezekiel. (Ryan Hall taught this choke in detail in his Back Mount instructionals.)

Sim was my first bjj instructor when I was in high school back at the original Cobra Kai. Wish I kept up with it but I started up again in 2021. Cool to see he's got his own namesake academy now. Enjoy the journey brotha!

Really enjoy these commentary style videos of the action. I'm starting my BJJ journey this summer, so these videos really help to get in the zone and the environment of what to expect.

For me with the von flue choke, one of the keys is really just driving your shoulder into their chin so they have to look away from you. Really apply tons of downward pressure on them. This gets things started with that choke usually for me. Also be patient with it. It can be one of those chokes where it takes longer for someone to tap to or even feel it. It's common for people to pass out because they didn't realize they were being choked lol.

At your school are you able to roll from day one? Do beginners train with upper belts
@robrolls Жыл бұрын
Yes if you want to, i jumped right in. And yeah i would say I mostly train with upper belts because I can only make the morning class which seems full of higher belts. For some reason most of the white belts are in the evening class.

Every 10 pounds and 10 years are considered a belt. So basically, if you and him are fighting, you are into your purple belt against his black belt. Not sure if you guys are the same age but if you are, then he still has 2 advantages over you. This means he can grab one tennis ball in each hand and if he squeezes or if he drops the tennis balls, he loses. I am just tired of the BS rolls that a black belt destroys a white belt or a blue belt. It happens in every gym. How about those high rank guys give up a limb or two, this way we see how fast things change. Yes, jiu jitsu works unless you stand up (Craig Jones Joke), but I have never seen a black belt giving the advantage to a lower belt, roll with them and win and I am not talking about positional advantage. How good is a black belt without using his or her right arm against a seasoned white belt who is 30 pounds heavier and much more muscular. That's what I want to see. If you are the bmf, level the playing field.

Thats a great idea! This was only 2nd time ever rolling with coach, im sure one of the black belts will be down for a challenge like that!

I want to train under Sim Go! I've been watching him since the Cobra Kai days!
