Thank you for sharing the beautiful story. It reminded me of my search for my own ancestry and I couldn’t help but feel emotional (too) when Daniel found the marriage certificate of his great-great-grandparents. We all come from somewhere. This video gives thanks to the love ones who came before us.. without whom… we would not be breathing and alive today 🙏

An honest question, something I've never understood about this search for your own ancestry. I'm not talking about immediate family like parents, but great-grandparents etc: What does it change? If you find out that your great-great-grandma was a) an Italian princess or b) an Italian prostitute - what does it change about your own identity?

@@user-wt2ip3bo3t For those of Eastern Asian descent, (in my case, ethnic Southern Han Chinese who migrated to Singapore four generations ago), finding our ancestral connection allows us to include our names in the ancestral records. I was not able to connect with the right ancestral family group. Therefore, other than my paternal grandfather, none of our names are included in the lineage. That branch of the family tree is broken. No changes or impact to our daily lives Just at it gives us the opportunity to connect back with our extended families..

😮🙏 Brought back many old & fond memories of Malaysians & Singaporeans' colleagues that had Eurasian ancestries ... The Fernandez , Collins , Cochranes , Texeira etc., ... Their families were pioneers in Malaya , Penang , Malacca & Singapore's Teaching Institutions , Lawyers , Town Planners , Railroad Masters , Postal Services , Minimarts , Supermarkets , Governmental Administrative Departments , Electricity Power Station & Water Treatment Plants Management , Plantation Estate Supervisors , Shipping & Aviation Pioneering Senior Management & the setting up of many SPCA , Zoological Gardens back then too! 🙏 Thank You So Much CNA for these tear inducing walking back to many Malaysians & Singaporeans ancestry memory lanes ... 🙏🌷🌿🍎🍊🌍✌💜🕊🇸🇬🇲🇾🇬🇧🇳🇱

Her name was Theresa Scully nee Danker. So her maiden name was Danker, meaning she also has a German ancestor, right? Scully was the Eurasian husband ancestor, not mother. I think.

You are saying he is half Chinese, half Indian or Malay? Eurasians are a completely different mix. There is no clearly defined look or race-dominant features and relatives and siblings can look very different in skin tone and features. He has Irish ancestry. I think you should phrase it properly? He is mixed and is an Eurasian. 👍🏻

Now you need to get a Maternal DNA test and Yline test done. Those can tell you more of where your ancestors came from. The test you took does not display the dna from your mother's mother's side, nor your father's father's side.
