Happy new year Memo🎉 The Homalomena is beautiful, probably a new wishlist plant for me 😅 I really enjoyed the repot & chat video so I would definitely be happy to watch content like this more often👍😊

Hi Memo and Happy New Year!! Just wanted to leave a comment letting you know that I really enjoyed the “chatty repot” style video! It wasn’t rubbish at all. I hope you have a wonderful trip to Greece! Safe travels! 🙂

Love the long chatty repots❤ I sit and repot some of mine while watching. Makes me feel like I’m not alone in my struggles😊

I find it interesting that you say that December is and expensive month and everyones broke in January 😅 This is absolutely something that people do….. to themselves Things don’t have to be as fancy as “everyone” expects of us. Gift giving doesn’t have to be insanely expensive as it seems to have now become, meals don’t have to be as fancy as is promoted everywhere. What is important in general, always, regardless of the time of year… is spending quality time with our loved ones. Sharing nice food (doesn’t have to be super expensive). Giving thoughtful gifts to show appreciation (also doesn’t have to be expensive). I don’t mean being cheap… but just being realistic, not going over the top 😊 In Europe I get those pots from the same shop where I get the plastic moss poles I propagate year round… no problems… just put them in a warm, bright, humid spot and its fine whenever. The things that I prop are reverted parts of plants, parts that break off of plants and chopped of cuttings of plants that got to big. Most of them take 😅 thats too much for me to handle… But theres a lovely lady in my area who loves helping people with starting up the plant hobby. I give her my rooted propagations, she gives them to people… and everyones happy Does it “costs” me some nursery pots and substrate mix… Yes… but I like propagating and this way its relatively no hassle to rehome the props Good advice to only do as many props as one can handle, it can get out of hand quickly! Plus its more fun to have grown out plants! “team janky support stick” Mosspoles are great…. For the people who can do the upkeep… I have a few and thats enough, will never have many of them, only for very few plants I have that get interesting leaf shapes when they size up (and for a scindapsus that refuses to grow well on anything else) Many plants are still active, so nice! Some are slower though. Some Hoyas are blooming or working on making blooms Off the cuff repot was nice too Nothing wrong with k-dramas, they are great! As always it was nice to see your plants and hear you talk about them 🪴🪴🪴 Wishing you a good time in Greece! 🇬🇷

Great question about tower pots! I’m in Oregon and nearly never see clear pots of any kind in the shops. Definitely never in the big box stores like Home Depot. All mine come from temu, and/or Amazon.

Have a wonderful time in Greece, Memo! I love the chatting all over the place videos. One of these at a set week per onth sounds like a wonderful idea.

Happy new year from British Columbia (Canada). All the local nurseries I go to sell clear plastic pots and I put all my plants in them.

Glad you found it again :) . I have never had my homolomena bloom, it is not the fastest grower for me and loves its self watering pot. I was almost dead within 2 weeks of buying it and the selfwatering saved it. I have some orchids under a growlight that are giving spikes, lovely flowers in winter

I’ve never seen clear plastic pots in the big box stores here. Everything I have is from Amazon or Temu, lol. Happy New Year M.

Hi Memo I have a Homalomena camouflage to. It's a thirsty thing, in fact it's the only one in my collection that did'nt survive my holidays last year... Well, I replaced it, put it in some improvised self watering thingy and now it's happy and grows quite quickly pretty big leaves . Only thing, it lives in my kitchen and it gets an absolute minimum of light. Not like the ones in my favourite plant shop in way better light, which all died a pretty quick death. So I deduce from that, this is the one and only real low light plant I came across so far. So from my experiences... put it in the dark, give it as much water as you can pour in there and it should be happy and grow like a weed.

Of course I propagate in winter. I keep houseplants to have something green when it's winter and I can't do exciting things in the garden😂 Happy new year, Memo!

Cool tip on the moss pole with the aroid soil - I will try it. I use only moss now and it's ok,but not great. Beautiful Begonia b... so cool it's growing so well 🥰 All the best to the new year 🎉🍀☀️🌿

I got an Homalomena camouflage a week ago and it's doing great. Only thing is it's a very thirsty plant in my experience. I'm growing it indoors so was quite surprised. In just a week it's pushed out two new leaves. It's an absolutely beautiful plant though! Those leaves are Amazing! ❤️

I have been moving all my plants to those tall clear orquid pots. The plants love it especially anthuriums. I used to buy them from Amazon, but temu is way cheaper.

Happy New Year Memo. 🥂🎊 Good you took time for yourself, nothing to apologize for. Priorities. 😊 Nope, not going moss pole route, thank you. 😅 And I have everything in house, but not doing it. My personality doesn't allow that, as I can't rely on myself, my energy is all over the place.

Yes, in the US they sell the hole-in-sides/orchid pots at big box stores (Lowe's, Home Depot)--in NM and TX anyway. But I have gone to Temu to get them as well--cheaper price and most of the time what they send is the same pot (other times it's thin and breaks if I try to reuse). Great to see you in 2025! 😊

It is a bloom. I have a Homalomena camouflage but it’s smaller. Most of the people tell me to cut off the flower because it takes too much from the plant.

Do you have a large plant with roots in the reservoir? Too many roots. What do you do? Trim roots or repot? No root rot. But the plant drinks 3 gallons of water a week 12inch pot. I’m June in my Junegle 🪴

Happy New Year Memo. I also think that pellionia looks like variegated mint lol. Any plants that cannot tolerate my conditions get binned and never bought again space is too limited to try saving things that clearly don’t like the conditions. I’ve just bought an A.arisaemoides so any tips would be appreciated I’m still very new to Anthurium

On the subject of propagation... I have restarted my 50+ mosspoles (mostly Philodendron) since they looked horrible because of neglect. I had my babyboy 22 of februari and the first months he was a velcro-baby 🥹😅 So now I have a wall full of propagation boxes 🤭 Luck will have it that I have a few planty friends who have a "stekjesbib" which translates to a "propagation library"; people can swap their props with other ones that are placed there. The more mainstream props I'm gonna give to them, the harder to find ones can make a bit of money 😊 I also cut all my hanging plants (20+) in the summer and had sooooo many propagations in water 😅 I potted them up and donated them to a retirement home before Christmas so each resident would get a plant (I gifted 135 babyplants) ❤ What can I say, propagation is just soooo much fun 🥰

Giggles, only cut what you can take care of, my pink princess, was getting really small leaves lately, so yes she was chopped. Will see how many of the 16 pieces survive. Maybe I can give away a few if the do, or sell will see

Sorry, I don't understand English, but I can understand the written text. Tell me please, does your mag*lux grow on a totem so that you can trim its top later? Or does it always grow on a support?
