Nudie jeans has amazing jeans! Their jeans are unisex mostly. You also have thick denim with a with a tiny bit of stretch because they’re tight, they’re low/mid waist (skinny Lin). You also have a night waisted really skinny one with probably just that regular denim feel (hightop tilde) but you also have a lot of other fits!

Great video and very useful tips! I decided to stop purchasing fast fashion jeans last year as they were poor fit and got ruined on my thighs within couple months, and I shifted towards Levi´s and so far it has been kinda hit or miss. My first pair lasts really well, it is made of very durable fabric with 0 stretch and I´ve been wearing in pretty much every day for a year and they still look like new. I later decided to get some high waisted jeans for the winter and those were a miss for sure. I bought the least stretchy pair with the most durable looking material they had.....aaaand the jeans ripped on a thigh in 3 months of regular wear. Thanks for the info, it will come in handy when i research where to buy my next pair so my money don´t go to waste again. :)

Hi Signe! Great video! My go-to pair of jeans is a black slim fit and when my last pair gave up after just a few months I tried out a pair from armed angels (the style is called Inga). I've had them for about half a year now and I wear them almost every day and they still look like when I first got them - strong recommendation! I'm glad you found out about the brand since they make really great clothing that lasts and is also rather affordable when compared to other sustainable brands such as people tree. My student budget surely appreciates that aspect ;) Just a quick tip - the sizing from armed angels tends to be a bit more generous than other brands, so if you're unsure, go for a smaller size. I like loosely fitted garments and usually buy a size medium but with armed angels, a size small already does the trick :) Have a great week and I hope you're feeling better 😘

Hi Signe! kings of indigo (k.o.i.) gotta be among THE sustainable jeans brands, especially if it comes to some more fashion forward jeans (but they have great basic wardrobe jeans as well). Also, if you speak some german, i recommend Kleiderkreisel (international name is “vinted“) where you can buy all sorts of clothes for little money. Imho vesti collective is veryyyy pricey for second hand clothes (luxury brands aside). The german brand “hess natur“ also sells eco clothing & jeans - though i m not sure if internationally. Super nice sustainable brands with a very minimal and great style i ve been loving lately are: Myrka Studio and JannJune (both german brands too) 💙 Thank you for your videos! 💙

Fantastic video, Signe! Thank you SO much for taking the time to explain the different fits, etc. I recently bought a pair of vintage Levi's 551 (from the late 80's/early 90's) and love them. I usually wear a US8 and bought them in a US12. I've found vintage denim sizes fit quite differently than our modern "vanity" sizing. Will definitely be watching your video on tailoring denim, so I can better fit them to my body. Cheers!

Hello! Great video. Wanted to mention that I just purchased a pair of everlane bone colored which is basically an off-white color, skinny jean. I haven't received them yet, but from your videos and reviews of the jeans on their website I decided to give them a try. I have a hard time finding jeans that look good and I wanted a pair of white jeans that weren't see through. Really hoping that I fall in love with these jeans. Wasn't sure on the size as reviews were mixed on whether they fit large or true to size. I hope I ordered correct.

Straight leg jeans are very flattering to the body, especially compared with skinny jeans that are ridiculously tight. The new style of cropping everything is just that: NEW and not always flattering. It shortens the leg. Didn't hear you mention repurposing, i.e. thrift shopping. A great way to save the eco-system, go to your local thrift store and try the jeans on. It's quite hard to get a good fit online, as we know. Altering is expensive and most people don't even know how to use a sewing machine. Finally in the U.S. there's the Poshmark app, where thousands of people are selling new and pre-owned items, you can buy or trade there.

Guinevere Pendragon if you get it high waisted and only slightly cropped (never to ones calf, just around the ankle where the thinnest part of the leg is) it can be flattering, they're my main pairs at the moment ... My skinny Jeans have been recategorised to leggings lol

Hello and thank you for this video, I was wondering how tall are you and what is the inseam measurements of your jeans, I'm thinking in doing some DIY moms jeans, thank you:)
@starrya56476 жыл бұрын
Great video! I have a question that maybe either you or other viewers could help me with... my question relates to bare ankles and trousers - this is something that I never saw for a long time and have never done (partly because I'm short and I don't like how cropped trousers break my legs up, and partly because I can't stand the cold so can't bare any skin in winter (or wear something as warm as jeans in summer for that matter!)) - so my question is: do you not feel the cold when you expose your ankles, or do you feel cold and do it anyway? And do you consciously buy short socks with this look in mind? It's something I always forget exists until I see bare ankles and shiver! No hate, just genuinely interested in this, because I obviously missed the boat here 😉
@missbox10836 жыл бұрын
Starry A I like wearing cropped jeans too. But my ankles stay bare only in warm months. During the winter months I wear my cropped jeans with some high booties so that my ankles are kept warm. I see a lot of people having their ankles exposed when it's really cold outside but I think they just want to be cool so bad that they just try not to pay attention to the fact that they are freezing😅
@guineverependragon98046 жыл бұрын
I agree with you and missbox, and think it's another case of suffering for fashion. Cropped pants is one of the biggest fashion scams ever done against consumers, I SMH as women talk about how "flattering" they are. Cutting the legs saves a great deal of fabric over all those pairs of pants. I have very long legs so I can pull them off, and I'm past hot flashes (women who are "flashing" probably appreciate crops). But I do not want cold ankles. I have several pairs of long boots for the cold.

Good video. I am wondering if anyone knows sustainable places to buy more classic jeans, i.e. dark wash, mid rise, full length skinny or straight leg that is at least 33" inseam to fit long legs. Something you could wear as easily with a big sweater or a camisole or a blazer, with boots or high heels, in all seasons. In Canada we frequently have 6 months of winter so shorter length jeans don't work very well as a year-round capsule piece. I shop at Everlane but find their jeans too short. Have looked at Reformation and also DL1961 but price points are quite high and I'm not sure what they mean by 'sustainable'. Grateful if anyone has ideas!

Back in the day Levi’s jeans never wore out !. I know as occasionally they were passed down to me from my brother .. Usually after 15 to 20 years when they no longer fit you’d just donate them to a Good Will .. Yes for small kids who were on their knees they’d develop holes which mom would patch up but generally Levi’s just plain wouldn’t wear out !. Today’s Levi’s are a far cry from what they once were .. They’re thinner and also of a much looser weave denim than that of yesteryear .. Levi’s now developer holes usually starting at the top corners of the back pockets then proceed to just fall apart requiring you to go out and buy another pair .. Levi’s look great but are made from garbage denim .. I switched over to Wranglers many years ago as they wear much longer and are significantly cheaper .. No I don’t work for Wranglers , nor do any of my family or friends ; I have nothing to do with Wranglers .. Wish Levi’s would go back to the excellent denim they once used !. Sure charge more but go back to quality jeans !. Levi’s in my opinion have simply become women’s jeans ..

A little confusing video. A 501 is never a mom-jeans, but a straight leg, which strange enough is the name of the section of your video, and those are usually full length and mid rise. Mom jeans are high rise, wider on the upper leg, tapering towards the leg opening and a tad shorter, although you can buy any model at any length. For me sustainable denim is 1) second hand and 2) 100% cotton. Never elasthane. So a skinny can IMO by no means qualify as sustainable jeans. I know some are keen on second hand Levi's, but believe me, try other brands. Especially authentic 90 budget brands are the best to get. Stuff like Mustang, Riders, Gitano, Etam: B-brands from the pre-made-in-China/Bangladesh era sold by big warehouses in the eighties and nineties. It's a fraction of the price of Levi's and every bit as good. I have one model I buy new, as there is no vintage alternative, and that is Lee Stella A-line, but only the organic 100% cotton variants. A good wide leg is a must have in the wardrobe. Skinny's can easily be replaced by the "girlfriend" jeans, or by nineties fitted men models, both have a less pronounced hip/waist, are narrow on the full leg length and still come in 100% cotton most of the time.

Mom jeans are the ugliest jean yet! Not flattering and not cool looking.
@lovemadeinjapan2 жыл бұрын
A pair of pants can only be ugly if the detailing is obnoxious, like distressed, frayed, uggly cuffed or with weird pockets and bad stitching or text print. The mom-cut by itself is never ugly, it is all about who is wearing it and in what combination. On a straight butt person mom jeans can look weird, but if you have good hips, they can look awesome. They also can work exceptionally well for dudes as they give good room in the crotch. Mom jeans style great for peddle fanatics in combination with oversized tucked in button up shirts (flanel, viscose, floral). They can nicelly accentuate a good muscled ankle. Other benefit of mom-jeans is that they stay on your butt day after day without a belt. No other style stays in position that long. They wear in nicely if 100% cotton, better than most other models. The true debatable cut is the skinny (jegging).
