If you get yourself a welder, a cutting disk-- and some scrap metal, you can save these things.. even if you rivet most of the metal down.. it'll last.

They sell the lower quarter panel online, amazon quadratec, would be best to just cut it out address all rust, weld thru paint and seal it up its a project and a half but its worth it in the end, nobody likes a muffed up repair

I'm currently in the market for a used Jeep Cherokee (1997-2001) and could use some expert advice. When considering the purchase of a used Jeep Cherokee, at what mileage threshold should I start to be concerned? In other words, what is considered too high mileage for a used Jeep Cherokee, indicating that I might want to pass on that particular vehicle? I'm looking for insights into reliability, maintenance expectations, and overall value as the mileage increases. Thanks in advance for your guidance!"

In case you're still looking and haven't purchased one yet. Be mindful of the 2000 - 2001 XJs. They had a flaw with the cylinder heads which caused them very commonly crack. causing coolant to leak coolant into the engine, and if not caught early will destroy your bearings. I have a 2000 with 189,000k and just had to replace the head on it. If you do replace the head, get a TUPY head from the later year 4.0s which is the same head and everything fits the same, but the flaw with cracking was fixed. you can also put a regular head on from the earlier years, but it does not have mounts for your coil packs and the exhaust manifolds are different, so you would have to make modifications. if you do buy a 2000 - 2001, make sure the head isn't already cracked (theres lots of information on how to check) and do your best to maintain the cooling system and not overheat the engine to get the most life out of the head you can.

it's probably even worth it to swap the head before it cracks in case you dont catch the crack in time. cause you will have to rebuild the whole engine or replace it if the crack goes unchecked for long enough and wreaks havoc on the bearings. and the 0331 head cracks are very common

What’s the bolt pattern on the rims?
@stevennewellproductions Жыл бұрын
Normal XJ 5x4.5 I said “very specific bolt pattern” speaking generally. Meaning not many xj owners are interested in buying them
@BsDirtlife Жыл бұрын
@@stevennewellproductions if you lived near by I’d be interested in them for a daily xj
