Thanks for sharing, Andy. Love to see the great care you take of the land and machinery. Sharing your thoughts about enjoying the trimming is awesome. When I had a small farm and horses, I would tell my wife I was going to bush hog the pasture. Sometimes she would say, does it really need it? Of course part of the reason was because I enjoyed doing it. Take care and I look forward to the next ride.

How much for 1 for a massey 7616. An where can I get 1. We made 1 last year after the inevitable incident with the saw blade but it is a 2 man job for install/removal

We (as far as I am aware) only stock them for JD machines. But we custom make them for anything and everything. Look for Howard Marshall engineering on the web and you'll find us

Hi ya Andy. When I worked for a farm contractor I was nominated hedge cutter pilot, we had I spearhead Twiga 6 but an earlier model than your one. I too found the servo controls a bit agricultural for want of a better term. It was a good strong machine though in all fairness, it had to be really as I was always chasing around different farms and parks for a good deal of the winter. Its nice to see what Spearhead have done to improve their newer models, I am a bit critical as you also seem to be and was always thinking what could be done better. My main beef with the controls was that there was no cross over on the lever, it was one movement or the other with no mix of the two possible. Keep the good vids coming.

Nice to see that your priority is to protect your tractor from all the damage that the hedge trimmings can cause, I can only hope, as you didn’t show this, that you carried out your legal obligation to clear the highway of all the hedge trimmings left behind, as some farmers like to leave the remains of the hedge all over the road for us motorists and cyclists to pick them up in our rubber tyres and then to later pay a visit to the local puncture repair outlet.

Cracking vid Andy! Really interesting to see the controls on the hedge trimmer as it is something I have done very little of. Fendt tractors you do have to stop and change them from foot to stick mode - the new Deere looks very smart!

My fendt 724 is as you say has to change peddle to stick mode on the button however I hedge with the peddle however activating cruse control will hold your current speed then just press the peddle to disactivate the cruise control, so ya very similar to ya JD really,

Good video again bud, I like your wheel covers If you weren't so busy in the winter doing Hedge trimming etc you could probably make and sell them covers to other farmers in need of protection 😁 If it's too wet to drill down at your place Andy then Britain is wet! here I don't think wev'e had a full weeks dry weather since the bank holiday week back at the end of August but I guess we are lucky compared to some, at least we are not under water like some farmers are further north 😒 As for the why such a big tractor on a hedge trimmer questions, remember what Wes (olf) say's 'It's always better to have a big tractor doing a little job than doing a big job with a little tractor' anyways stay safe out there Andy especially with them impatient idiot drivers 👍

Of curiosity, is it mandatory to have hedges along (those narrow) roads in England? Does every farmer have to take care of the hedges along their properties? Well kept hedges obviously look good... but quite a job keeping them as such. And thank you for good videos.
